Psalm 65

Praise to God for His Salvation and Providence
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. A Song.
65 Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion;
And to You the [a]vow shall be performed.
2 O You who hear prayer,
(A)To You all flesh will come.
3 Iniquities prevail against me;
As for our transgressions,
You will (B)provide atonement for them.
4 (C)Blessed is the man You (D)choose,
And cause to approach You,
That he may dwell in Your courts.
(E)We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,
Of Your holy temple.
5 By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us,
O God of our salvation,
You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
And of the far-off seas;
6 Who established the mountains by His strength,
(F)Being clothed with power;
7 (G)You who still the noise of the seas,
The noise of their waves,
(H)And the tumult of the peoples.
8 They also who dwell in the farthest parts are afraid of Your signs;
You make the outgoings of the morning and evening [b]rejoice.
9 You [c]visit the earth and (I)water it,
You greatly enrich it;
(J)The river of God is full of water;
You provide their grain,
For so You have prepared it.
10 You water its ridges abundantly,
You settle its furrows;
You make it soft with showers,
You bless its growth.
11 You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.
12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness,
And the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks;
(K)The valleys also are covered with grain;
They shout for joy, they also sing.

65 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.
2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
3 Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.
4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:
6 Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:
7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.
8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.
9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.
10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.
11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

Gud låter sin godhet flöda över
1-2 Gud, vi kommer inför dig i stilla tillbedjan på berget Sion för att uppfylla vårt löfte.
3 Eftersom du svarar på bön, kommer alla människor till dig.
4 Du förlåter oss de synder som ständigt plågar oss.
5 Lyckliga är de som du har utvalt till att bo nära dig i ditt heliga tempel. Där ska du välsigna oss med allt det goda från ditt hus.
6 Med väldiga gärningar och med stor makt kommer du att försvara oss mot våra fiender. Gud, du som frälser oss, du är en tillflykt för jordens alla folk, även för dem som bor i avlägsna länder.
7 Med din oerhörda styrka har du format bergen.
8 Du stillar det stormande havet och låter dess vågor lägga sig. Också de upproriska folken får du att tiga.
9 Det du gör förvånar alla jordens innevånare. Från öster till väster jublar man inför dig.
10 Du vattnar jorden för att göra den bördig. Guds floder torkar aldrig ut! Därför får ditt folk stora och rika skördar.
11 Du vattnar de upplöjda fälten och regnskurar mjukar upp den torra jorden så att säden kan gro.
12-13 På grund av din godhet skänker du oss rika skördar. Till och med i vildmarken finns gröna, saftiga ängar, och från höjderna hörs glädjerop.
14 På ängarna trängs fårhjordar, och i dalarna växer säden. Hela världen sjunger och ropar av glädje!

65 Praise (A)is due to you,[a] O God, in Zion,
and to you shall (B)vows be performed.
2 O you who (C)hear prayer,
to you (D)shall all flesh come.
3 When (E)iniquities prevail against me,
you (F)atone for our transgressions.
4 (G)Blessed is the one you choose and bring near,
to (H)dwell in your courts!
We shall be (I)satisfied with the goodness of your house,
the holiness of your temple!
5 By (J)awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness,
O God of our salvation,
the hope of all (K)the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas;
6 the one who by his strength established the mountains,
being (L)girded with might;
7 who (M)stills the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
(N)the tumult of the peoples,
8 so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs.
You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.
