O God of Our Salvation

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song.

65 Praise ^(A)is due to you,^[a] O God, in Zion,
    and to you shall ^(B)vows be performed.
²O you who ^(C)hear prayer,
    to you ^(D)shall all flesh come.
³When ^(E)iniquities prevail against me,
    you ^(F)atone for our transgressions.
⁴^(G)Blessed is the one you choose and bring near,
    to ^(H)dwell in your courts!
We shall be ^(I)satisfied with the goodness of your house,
    the holiness of your temple!

⁵By ^(J)awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness,
    O God of our salvation,
the hope of all ^(K)the ends of the earth
    and of the farthest seas;
⁶the one who by his strength established the mountains,
    being ^(L)girded with might;
⁷who ^(M)stills the roaring of the seas,
    the roaring of their waves,
    ^(N)the tumult of the peoples,
⁸so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs.
You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.

⁹You visit the earth and ^(O)water it;^[b]
    you greatly enrich it;
^(P)the river of God is full of water;
    ^(Q)you provide their grain,
    for so you have prepared it.
¹⁰You water its furrows abundantly,
    settling its ridges,
softening it with ^(R)showers,
    and blessing its growth.
¹¹You crown the year with your bounty;
    your wagon tracks ^(S)overflow with abundance.
¹²^(T)The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
    the hills ^(U)gird themselves with joy,
¹³^(V)the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
    the valleys deck themselves with grain,
    they ^(W)shout and sing together for joy.

    your ^(E)saving power among all nations.

    let all the peoples praise you!

⁴Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
    for you ^(G)judge the peoples with equity
    and guide the nations upon earth. Selah

Proverbs 24

24 Be not ^(A)envious of evil men,
nor desire to be ^(B)with them,
²for their hearts ^(C)devise violence,
and their lips ^(D)talk of trouble.

³By ^(E)wisdom a house is built,
    and by understanding it is established;
⁴by knowledge the rooms are filled
    with all ^(F)precious and pleasant riches.
⁵^(G)A wise man is full of strength,
    and a man of knowledge enhances his might,
⁶for by ^(H)wise guidance you can wage your war,
    and in ^(I)abundance of counselors there is victory.

Does not he who ^(S)keeps watch over your soul know it,
    and will he not repay man ^(T)according to his work?

¹³My son, ^(U)eat honey, for it is good,
    and ^(V)the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste.
¹⁴Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
    if you find it, there will be ^(W)a future,
    and your hope will not be cut off.

¹⁵^(X)Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous;
do no violence to his home;
¹⁶^(Y)for the righteous falls ^(Z)seven times and rises again,
but ^(AA)the wicked stumble in times of calamity.

¹⁷^(AB)Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,
and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles,
¹⁸lest the Lord see it and be displeased,
and turn away his anger from him.

¹⁹^(AC)Fret not yourself because of evildoers,
and be not ^(AD)envious of the wicked,
²⁰for the evil man has no ^(AE)future;
^(AF)the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

²¹My son, ^(AG)fear the Lord and the king,
and do not join with those who do otherwise,
²²for disaster will arise suddenly from them,
and who knows the ruin that will come from them both?

¹⁸And ^(A)do not get drunk with wine, for that is ^(B)debauchery, but ^(C)be filled with the Spirit, ¹⁹addressing one another in ^(D)psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, ²⁰^(E)giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father ^(F)in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, ²¹^(G)submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Wives and Husbands

²²^(H)Wives, ^(I)submit to your own husbands, ^(J)as to the Lord. ²³For ^(K)the husband is the head of the wife even as ^(L)Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is ^(M)himself its Savior. ²⁴Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit ^(N)in everything to their husbands.

²⁵^(O)Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and ^(P)gave himself up for her, ²⁶that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by ^(Q)the washing of water ^(R)with the word, ²⁷so ^(S)that he might present the church to himself in splendor, ^(T)without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.^[a] ²⁸In the same way ^(U)husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. ²⁹For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, ³⁰because ^(V)we are members of his body. ³¹^(W)“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and ^(X)the two shall become one flesh.” ³²This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. ³³However, ^(Y)let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she ^(Z)respects her husband.
