Psalm 62
Living Bible
62 I stand silently before the Lord, waiting for him to rescue me. For salvation comes from him alone. 2 Yes, he alone is my Rock, my rescuer, defense and fortress. Why then should I be tense with fear when troubles come?
3-4 But what is this? They pick on me at a time when my throne[a] is tottering; they plot my death and use lies and deceit to try to force me from the throne. They are so friendly to my face while cursing in their hearts!
5 But I stand silently before the Lord, waiting for him to rescue me. For salvation comes from him alone. 6 Yes, he alone is my Rock, my rescuer, defense, and fortress—why then should I be tense with fear when troubles come?
7 My protection and success[b] come from God alone. He is my refuge, a Rock where no enemy can reach me. 8 O my people, trust him all the time. Pour out your longings before him, for he can help! 9 The greatest of men or the lowest—both alike are nothing in his sight. They weigh less than air on scales.
10 Don’t become rich by extortion and robbery; if your riches increase, don’t be proud. 11-12 God has said it many times, that power belongs to him (and also, O Lord, steadfast love belongs to you). He rewards each one of us according to what our works deserve.

God Is a Refuge for Us
For the choir director. According to [a]Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
62 (A)Surely my soul waits in silence for God;
From Him (B)is my salvation.
2 Surely He is my (C)rock and my salvation,
My (D)stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.
3 How long will you assail a man,
That you may murder him, all of you,
Like a (E)leaning wall, like a fence thrust down?
4 Surely they have counseled to thrust him down from his high position;
They (F)find pleasure in falsehood;
They (G)bless with [b]their mouth,
But inwardly they curse. [c]Selah.
5 Surely (H)wait in silence for God, O my soul,
For my hope is from Him.
6 Surely He is (I)my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
7 On God my (J)salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my (K)refuge is in God.
8 (L)Trust in Him at all times, O people;
(M)Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.
9 Surely [d]men of (N)low degree are merely (O)vanity and [e]men of rank are a (P)lie;
In the (Q)balances they go up;
They are together lighter than a breath of vanity.
10 (R)Do not trust in oppression
And do not put vain hope in (S)robbery;
If riches increase, (T)do not set your heart upon them.
11 [f]Once God has (U)spoken;
[g]Twice I have heard this:
That (V)strength belongs to God;
12 And that (W)to You, O Lord, belongs lovingkindness,
For You (X)repay a man according to his work.
