Psalm 60

Psalm 60
For the music leader. According to “Lily.” A testimony. A miktam[a] of David. For instruction, when he went to war with Aram-naharaim and Aram-sobah, and when Joab returned and defeated Edom, killing twelve thousand in the Salt Valley.
60 God, you have rejected us—
shattered us.
You’ve been so angry.
Now restore us!
2 You’ve made the ground quake,
splitting it open.
Now repair its cracks
because it’s shaking apart!
3 You’ve made your people suffer hardship;
you’ve given us wine and we stagger.
4 Give a flag to those who honor you,
so they can rally around it,
safe from attack.[b] Selah
5 Save us by your power and answer us
so that the people you love might be rescued.
6 God has spoken in his sanctuary:
“I will celebrate as I divide up Shechem
and portion out the Succoth Valley.
7 Gilead is mine;
Manasseh is mine;
Ephraim is my helmet;
Judah is my scepter.
8 But Moab is my washbowl;
I’ll throw my shoe at Edom.
I shout in triumph over Philistia![c]
9 I wish someone would bring me to a fortified city!
I wish someone would lead me to Edom!”
10 But you have rejected us, God, haven’t you?
God, you no longer accompany our armies.
11 Give us help against the enemy;
human help is worthless.
12 With God we will triumph;
he’s the one who will trample our adversaries.

Urgent Prayer for the Restored Favor of God(A)
To the Chief Musician. (B)Set to [a]“Lily of the Testimony.” A Michtam of David. For teaching. (C)When he fought against Mesopotamia and Syria of Zobah, and Joab returned and killed twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
60 O God, (D)You have cast us off;
You have broken us down;
You have been displeased;
Oh, restore us again!
2 You have made the earth tremble;
You have broken it;
(E)Heal its breaches, for it is shaking.
3 (F)You have shown Your people hard things;
(G)You have made us drink the wine of [b]confusion.
4 (H)You have given a banner to those who fear You,
That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah
5 (I)That Your beloved may be delivered,
Save with Your right hand, and hear me.
6 God has (J)spoken in His holiness:
“I will rejoice;
I will (K)divide (L)Shechem
And measure out (M)the Valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine;
(N)Ephraim also is the [c]helmet for My head;
(O)Judah is My lawgiver.
8 (P)Moab is My washpot;
(Q)Over Edom I will cast My shoe;
(R)Philistia, shout in triumph because of Me.”
9 Who will bring me to the strong city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
10 Is it not You, O God, (S)who cast us off?
And You, O God, who did (T)not go out with our armies?
11 Give us help from trouble,
(U)For the help of man is useless.
12 Through God (V)we will do valiantly,
For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.

60 Odbacio si nas, Bože, rasuo si nas,
bio si ljut, a sada, obnovi nas.
2 Potresao si zemlju i rascijepila se.
Zatvori joj pukotine jer još se trese.
3 Pokazao si svom narodu što su nevolje,
napio nas vinom, posrćemo kao pijanice.
4 Ali postavio si zastavu onima koji su ti vjerni,
da se ondje okupe i van dometa strijelaca sklone. Selah
5 Daj nam pobjedu, molbu nam ispuni,
da se mogu spasiti tvoji voljeni.
6 Bog je rekao u svom svetištu:
»Uživat ću u pobjedi
i zemlju svom narodu[a] podijeliti.
Dat ću im grad Šekem i dolinu Sukot.
7 Gilead je moj, Manaše je moj,
Efrajim mi je kao kaciga,
Juda moja vladarska palica.
8 Moab mi je posuda za pranje,
na Edom bacam sandalu[b],
nad Filistejom slavim pobjedu.«
9 No, tko će me dovesti do utvrđenoga grada?
Tko će me dovesti do Edoma?
10 Zar nećeš ti, Bože,
ti koji si nas odbacio,
ti, Bože, koji ne ideš u bitku
s našim vojskama?
11 Pomozi nam protiv neprijatelja
jer ljudska je pomoć ništavna.
12 S Bogom ćemo uspjeti,
on će naše neprijatelje zgaziti.
