6 (Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen, auf acht Saiten.) Ach HERR, strafe mich nicht in deinem Zorn und züchtige mich nicht in deinem Grimm!

²HERR, sei mir gnädig, denn ich bin schwach; heile mich, HERR, denn meine Gebeine sind erschrocken,

³und meine Seele ist sehr erschrocken. Ach du, HERR, wie lange!

⁴Wende dich, HERR, und errette meine Seele; hilf mir um deiner Güte willen!

⁵Denn im Tode gedenkt man dein nicht; wer will dir bei den Toten danken?

⁶Ich bin so müde vom Seufzen; ich schwemme mein Bett die ganze Nacht und netze mit meinen Tränen mein Lager.

⁷Meine Gestalt ist verfallen vor Trauern und alt ist geworden; denn ich werde allenthalben geängstet.

⁸Weichet von mir, alle Übeltäter; denn der HERR hört mein Weinen,

⁹der HERR hört mein Flehen; mein Gebet nimmt der HERR an.

¹⁰Es müssen alle meine Feinde zu Schanden werden und sehr erschrecken, sich zurückkehren und zu Schanden werden plötzlich.

6 O Lord, ^(B)do not rebuke me in Your anger,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
²Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak;
O Lord, ^(C)heal me, for my bones are troubled.
³My soul also is greatly ^(D)troubled;
But You, O Lord—how long?

⁴Return, O Lord, deliver me!
Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
⁵^(E)For in death there is no remembrance of You;
In the grave who will give You thanks?

⁶I am weary with my groaning;
^[b]All night I make my bed swim;
I drench my couch with my tears.
⁷^(F)My eye wastes away because of grief;
It grows old because of all my enemies.

⁸^(G)Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
For the Lord has ^(H)heard the voice of my weeping.
⁹The Lord has heard my supplication;
The Lord will receive my prayer.
¹⁰Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled;
Let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly.

6 O Lord, ^(B)rebuke me not in your anger,
    nor ^(C)discipline me in your wrath.
²Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
    ^(D)heal me, O Lord, ^(E)for my bones are troubled.
³My ^(F)soul also is greatly troubled.
    But you, O Lord—^(G)how long?

⁴Turn, O Lord, deliver my life;
save me for the sake of your steadfast love.
⁵For in ^(H)death there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who will give you praise?

⁶I am ^(I)weary with my ^(J)moaning;
    every night I flood my bed with tears;
    I drench my couch with my weeping.
⁷My ^(K)eye wastes away because of grief;
    it grows weak because of all my foes.

⁸^(L)Depart from me, all you ^(M)workers of evil,
