Hoffnung für Alle
Gott wird mit meinen Feinden fertig!
59 Ein Lied von David, nach der Melodie: »Richte nicht zugrunde«. Er verfasste es, als Saul sein Haus überwachen ließ, um ihn zu töten.[a]
2 Befreie mich von meinen Feinden, mein Gott!
Bring mich in Sicherheit vor meinen Verfolgern!
3 Ja, rette mich vor diesen böswilligen Menschen,
die vor keiner Bluttat zurückschrecken!
4 Siehst du nicht, wie sie mir auflauern, um mich zu töten?
Alles, was in ihrer Macht steht, haben sie gegen mich aufgeboten.
Doch niemand kann mir vorwerfen, ich hätte treulos gehandelt
oder sonst ein Unrecht begangen, Herr.
5 Obwohl ich völlig unschuldig bin,
kommen sie angelaufen und umstellen mein Haus.
Steh auf, Herr! Sieh meine Not an und komm mir zu Hilfe!
6 Du bist der allmächtige Herr und Gott, du bist der Gott Israels!
Greif ein und strafe alle gottlosen Völker;
hab kein Erbarmen mit den gemeinen Verrätern!
7 Sie benehmen sich wie wilde Hunde,
die am Abend kläffend die Stadt durchstreifen.
8 Vor Gier läuft ihnen schon der Geifer aus dem Maul.
Jedes Wort, das über ihre Lippen kommt, ist wie ein Dolchstoß.
Dabei denken sie: »Keiner hört, was wir hier planen!«
9 Aber du, Herr, kannst über sie nur lachen.
Nichts als Spott hast du für diese Völker übrig.
10 Du bist meine Stärke[b], an dich will ich mich klammern.
Du gibst mir Schutz wie eine sichere Burg.
11 Du, mein Gott, kommst mir in Liebe entgegen
und lässt mich über meine Feinde triumphieren.
12 Doch töte sie nicht sofort, Herr, unser Beschützer,
sonst gerät alles rasch wieder in Vergessenheit,
und mein Volk würde nichts daraus lernen.
Darum lass sie erst ruhelos umherirren
und langsam durch deine Macht zugrunde gehen!
13 Mit jedem Wort laden sie noch mehr Schuld auf sich.
Vor lauter Überheblichkeit sollen sie sich selbst
im Netz ihrer Lügen und Lästerungen verstricken!
14 Vertilge sie in deinem Zorn!
Rotte sie aus mit Stumpf und Stiel!
Dann wird die ganze Welt erkennen,
dass du, Gott, in Israel[c] regierst.
15 Denn diese Leute sind wie wilde Hunde,
die am Abend kläffend die Stadt durchstreifen.
16 Sie streunen umher auf der Suche nach Fraß,
und wenn sie nicht satt werden, knurren sie wütend[d].
17 Ich aber singe von deiner Macht.
Früh am Morgen juble ich dir zu, weil du so gnädig bist.
Du bietest mir Schutz wie eine sichere Burg;
zu dir kann ich in der Not fliehen.
18 Ja, dir will ich singen und musizieren,
denn du bist meine Stärke.
Bei dir, Gott, weiß ich mich geborgen.
Ja, Gott, wie gut bist du zu mir!

2 Mon Dieu, délivre-moi de mes ennemis,
protège-moi contre mes adversaires!
3 Délivre-moi de ceux qui commettent l’injustice
et sauve-moi des hommes sanguinaires,
4 car les voici aux aguets pour m’enlever la vie.
Des hommes puissants complotent contre moi
sans que je sois coupable, sans que j’aie péché, Eternel!
5 Malgré mon innocence ils accourent, prêts à m’attaquer.
Réveille-toi, viens vers moi et regarde!
6 Toi, Eternel, Dieu de l’univers, Dieu d’Israël,
lève-toi pour corriger toutes les nations,
ne fais grâce à aucun de ces traîtres impies! – Pause.
7 Ils reviennent chaque soir, ils hurlent comme des chiens,
ils font le tour de la ville.
8 De leur bouche ils font jaillir l’injure,
leurs paroles sont des épées.
Ils disent: «Qui est-ce qui entend?»
9 Mais toi, Eternel, tu te ris d’eux,
tu te moques de toutes les nations.
10 Toi qui es ma force, c’est en toi que j’espère,
car Dieu est ma forteresse.
11 Mon Dieu m’accueille dans sa bonté,
Dieu me fait contempler mes adversaires.
12 Ne les tue pas, sinon mon peuple les oublierait;
fais-les trembler par ta puissance et jette-les à bas,
Seigneur, notre bouclier!
13 Leur bouche pèche à chaque parole de leurs lèvres:
qu’ils soient pris dans leur propre orgueil!
Ils ne profèrent que malédictions et mensonges:
14 détruis-les, dans ta fureur, détruis-les, et qu’ils n’existent plus!
Qu’on sache que Dieu règne sur Jacob
jusqu’aux extrémités de la terre! – Pause.
15 Ils reviennent chaque soir, ils hurlent comme des chiens,
ils font le tour de la ville.
16 Ils errent çà et là, cherchant leur nourriture,
et ils passent la nuit sans être rassasiés.
17 Quant à moi, je chanterai ta force,
dès le matin je célébrerai ta bonté,
car tu es pour moi une forteresse,
un refuge quand je suis dans la détresse.
18 Toi qui es ma force, c’est pour toi que je veux chanter,
car Dieu, mon Dieu si bon, est ma forteresse.

1 Deliver me from my enemies, O God;(B)
be my fortress against those who are attacking me.(C)
2 Deliver me from evildoers(D)
and save me from those who are after my blood.(E)
3 See how they lie in wait for me!
Fierce men conspire(F) against me
for no offense or sin of mine, Lord.
4 I have done no wrong,(G) yet they are ready to attack me.(H)
Arise to help me; look on my plight!(I)
5 You, Lord God Almighty,
you who are the God of Israel,(J)
rouse yourself(K) to punish all the nations;(L)
show no mercy to wicked traitors.[c](M)
6 They return at evening,
snarling like dogs,(N)
and prowl about the city.
7 See what they spew from their mouths(O)—
the words from their lips are sharp as swords,(P)
and they think, “Who can hear us?”(Q)
8 But you laugh at them, Lord;(R)
you scoff at all those nations.(S)
9 You are my strength,(T) I watch for you;
you, God, are my fortress,(U)
10 my God on whom I can rely.
God will go before me
and will let me gloat over those who slander me.
11 But do not kill them, Lord our shield,[d](V)
or my people will forget.(W)
In your might uproot them
and bring them down.(X)
12 For the sins of their mouths,(Y)
for the words of their lips,(Z)
let them be caught in their pride.(AA)
For the curses and lies they utter,
13 consume them in your wrath,
consume them till they are no more.(AB)
Then it will be known to the ends of the earth
that God rules over Jacob.(AC)
14 They return at evening,
snarling like dogs,
and prowl about the city.
15 They wander about for food(AD)
and howl if not satisfied.
16 But I will sing(AE) of your strength,(AF)
in the morning(AG) I will sing of your love;(AH)
for you are my fortress,(AI)
my refuge in times of trouble.(AJ)
17 You are my strength, I sing praise to you;
you, God, are my fortress,

59 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.
4 They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.
5 Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
6 They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
8 But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
9 Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.
