The Just Judgment of the Wicked
To the Chief Musician. Set to [a]“Do Not Destroy.” A Michtam of David.
58 Do you indeed speak righteousness, you silent ones?
Do you judge uprightly, you sons of men?
2 No, in heart you work wickedness;
You weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth.
3 (A)The wicked are estranged from the womb;
They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
4 (B)Their poison is like the poison of a serpent;
They are like the deaf cobra that stops its ear,
5 Which will not (C)heed the voice of charmers,
Charming ever so skillfully.
6 (D)Break[b] their teeth in their mouth, O God!
Break out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!
7 (E)Let them flow away as waters which run continually;
When he bends his bow,
Let his arrows be as if cut in pieces.
8 Let them be like a snail which melts away as it goes,
(F)Like a stillborn child of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
9 Before your (G)pots can feel the burning thorns,
He shall take them away (H)as with a whirlwind,
As in His living and burning wrath.
10 The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the (I)vengeance;
(J)He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,
11 (K)So that men will say,
“Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
Surely He is God who (L)judges in the earth.”

58 Tunay bang kayo'y nangagsasalita ng katuwiran Oh kayong mga makapangyarihan? Nagsisihatol ba kayo ng matuwid, Oh kayong mga anak ng mga tao?
2 Oo, sa puso ay nagsisigawa kayo ng kasamaan; inyong tinitimbang ang pangdadahas ng inyong mga kamay sa lupa.
3 Ang masama ay naliligaw mula sa bahay-bata: sila'y naliligaw pagkapanganak sa kanila, na nagsasalita ng mga kasinungalingan.
4 Ang kanilang kamandag ay parang kamandag ng ahas: sila'y gaya ng binging ahas na nagtatakip ng kaniyang pakinig;
5 At hindi nakakarinig ng tinig ng mga enkantador, na kailan man ay hindi umeenkanto ng gayon na may karunungan.
6 Iyong bungalin ang kanilang mga ngipin, Oh Dios, sa kanilang bibig: iyong bungalin ang mga malaking ngipin ng mga batang leon, Oh Panginoon.
7 Mangatunaw nawa silang parang tubig na umaagos: pagka inihilagpos niya ang kaniyang mga palaso, maging gaya nawa ng nangaluray.
8 Maging gaya nawa ng laman ng laman ng suso na natutunaw at napapawi: na gaya ng naagas sa babae na hindi nakakita ng araw.
9 Bago makaramdam ang inyong mga palyok ng mga dawag na panggatong, kaniyang kukunin ang mga yaon ng ipoipo, ang sariwa at gayon din ang nagniningas.
10 Magagalak ang matuwid pagka nakita niya ang higanti: kaniyang huhugasan ang kaniyang mga paa sa dugo ng masama.
11 Na anopa't sasabihin ng mga tao, Katotohanang may kagantihan sa matuwid: katotohanang may Dios na humahatol sa lupa.

1 Do you rulers indeed speak justly?(A)
Do you judge people with equity?
2 No, in your heart you devise injustice,(B)
and your hands mete out violence on the earth.(C)
3 Even from birth the wicked go astray;
from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies.
4 Their venom is like the venom of a snake,(D)
like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears,
5 that will not heed(E) the tune of the charmer,(F)
however skillful the enchanter may be.
6 Break the teeth in their mouths, O God;(G)
Lord, tear out the fangs of those lions!(H)
7 Let them vanish like water that flows away;(I)
when they draw the bow, let their arrows fall short.(J)
8 May they be like a slug that melts away as it moves along,(K)
like a stillborn child(L) that never sees the sun.
9 Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns(M)—
whether they be green or dry—the wicked will be swept away.[c](N)
10 The righteous will be glad(O) when they are avenged,(P)
when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked.(Q)
11 Then people will say,
“Surely the righteous still are rewarded;(R)
surely there is a God who judges the earth.”(S)

A Prayer When All Goes Wrong
1 Do you mighty people[b] talk
only to oppose justice?[c]
Don't you ever judge fairly?
2 You are always planning evil,
and you are brutal.
3 You have done wrong and lied
from the day you were born.
4 Your words spread poison
like the bite of a cobra
5 that refuses to listen
to the snake charmer.
6 My enemies are fierce
as lions, Lord God!
Shatter their teeth.
Snatch out their fangs.
7 Make them disappear
like leaking water,
and make their arrows miss.
8 Let them dry up like snails
or be like a child that dies
before seeing the sun.
9 Wipe them out quicker
than a pot can be heated
by setting thorns on fire.[d]
10 Good people will be glad
when they see the wicked
getting what they deserve,
and they will wash their feet
in their enemies' blood.
11 Everyone will say, “It's true!
Good people are rewarded.
God does indeed rule the earth
with justice.”
