57 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!
For my soul trusts in You;
(C)And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge,
(D)Until these calamities have passed by.
2 I will cry out to God Most High,
To God (E)who performs all things for me.
3 (F)He shall send from heaven and save me;
He reproaches the one who [b]would swallow me up. Selah
God (G)shall send forth His mercy and His truth.
4 My soul is among lions;
I lie among the sons of men
Who are set on fire,
(H)Whose teeth are spears and arrows,
And their tongue a sharp sword.
5 (I)Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let Your glory be above all the earth.
6 (J)They have prepared a net for my steps;
My soul is bowed down;
They have dug a pit before me;
Into the midst of it they themselves have fallen. Selah
7 (K)My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise.
8 Awake, (L)my glory!
Awake, lute and harp!
I will awaken the dawn.
9 (M)I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing to You among the [c]nations.
10 (N)For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,
And Your truth unto the clouds.
11 (O)Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let Your glory be above all the earth.

1 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
for in you I take refuge.(C)
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings(D)
until the disaster has passed.(E)
2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God, who vindicates me.(F)
3 He sends from heaven and saves me,(G)
rebuking those who hotly pursue me—[c](H)
God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.(I)
4 I am in the midst of lions;(J)
I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.(K)
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.(L)
6 They spread a net for my feet(M)—
I was bowed down(N) in distress.
They dug a pit(O) in my path—
but they have fallen into it themselves.(P)
7 My heart, O God, is steadfast,
my heart is steadfast;(Q)
I will sing and make music.
8 Awake, my soul!
Awake, harp and lyre!(R)
I will awaken the dawn.
9 I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.(S)

57 (По слав. 56). За първия певец, по не разорявай. Песен на Давида, когато побягна от Сауловото лице в пещерата*. Смили се за мене, о Боже, смили се за мене, Защото при Тебе прибягва душата ми; Да! Под сянката но Твоите крила ще прибягна, Докато преминат тия бедствия.
2 Ще викам към Всевишния Бог, Към Бога, Който действува за мене.
3 Ще прати от небесата и ще ме избави, Когато ме укорява оня, който иска да ме погълне. (Села). Бог ще изпрати милостта Си и истината Си.
4 Душата ми е всред лъвовете; Лежа между пламнали човеци, Между човешки чада, чиито зъби са копия и стрели, И чиито език е остър меч.
5 Възнеси се, Боже, над небесата; Славата Ти нека бъде по цялата земя.
6 Мрежи приготви за стъпките ми; Душата ми се е навела; Изкопаха пред мене яма; Те сами паднаха всред тия. (Села).
7 Непоколебимо е сърцето ми, Боже, непоколебимо е сърцето ми; Ще пея, а ще славословя.
8 Събуди се, душе моя+; Събуди се, псалтирю и арфо; сам аз ще се събудя на ранина.
9 Ще те хваля, Господи, между племената; Ще те славословя между народите.
10 Защото Твоята милост е велика дори до небесата. И Твоята вярност до облаците.
11 Възнеси се, Боже, над небесата; Славата Ти нека бъде по цялата земя.
