Psalm 57
New American Standard Bible
Prayer for Rescue from Persecutors.
For the music director; set to [a]Al-tashheth. A [b]Mikhtam of David, [c]when he fled from Saul in the cave.
57 Be gracious to me, God, be gracious to me,
For my soul (A)takes refuge in You;
And in the (B)shadow of Your wings I will take refuge
Until destruction (C)passes by.
2 I will cry to God Most High,
To God who (D)accomplishes all things for me.
3 He will (E)send from heaven and save me;
He rebukes the one who [d](F)tramples upon me. Selah
God will send His [e](G)favor and His truth.
4 My soul is among (H)lions;
I must lie among those who devour,
Among sons of mankind whose (I)teeth are spears and arrows,
And their (J)tongue is a sharp sword.
5 (K)Be exalted above the heavens, God;
May Your glory be above all the earth.
6 They have prepared a (L)net for my steps;
My soul is (M)bowed down;
They (N)dug a pit before me;
They themselves have (O)fallen into the midst of it. Selah
7 (P)My (Q)heart is steadfast, God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!
8 Awake, (R)my glory!
Awake, (S)harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
9 (T)I will praise You, Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to You among the [f]nations.
10 For Your (U)goodness is great to the heavens
And Your [g]truth to the clouds.
11 (V)Be exalted above the heavens, God;
May Your glory be above all the earth.

Bön och lovsång i nöden
57 (A) För körledaren, "Fördärva inte[a]". En sång av David när han hade flytt undan Saul och var i grottan[b].
2 (B) Förbarma dig, Gud,
förbarma dig över mig!
Till dig flyr min själ,
i dina vingars skugga
tar jag min tillflykt
tills faran är över.
3 (C) Jag ropar till Gud, den Högste,
till Gud, som fullbordar
sitt verk för mig.
4 (D) Han sänder sin hjälp från himlen
och frälser mig
när mina förföljare hånar mig.[c]
Sela
Gud sänder sin nåd
och sin sanning.
5 (E) Min själ är omgiven av lejon,
jag ligger bland människoätare
med tänder[d] som spjut och pilar
och tungor som skarpa svärd.
6 Visa din höghet över himlen, Gud,
och din härlighet över hela jorden!
7 (F) De lägger nät för mina fötter,
min själ är nerböjd.
De gräver en grop för mig,
men de faller själva däri.
Sela
8 (G) [e]Mitt hjärta är frimodigt, Gud,
mitt hjärta är frimodigt.[f]
Jag vill sjunga och spela.
9 (H) Vakna, min ära[g],
vakna, lyra och harpa!
Jag vill väcka morgonrodnaden.
10 (I) Jag vill tacka dig bland folken,
Herre,
lovsjunga dig bland folkslagen,
11 (J) för din nåd är stor
och når till himlen,
din sanning ända till skyarna.
12 Visa din höghet över himlen, Gud,
och din härlighet över hela jorden!
Footnotes
