56 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.

Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Confío en tus promesas

SALMO 56 (55)

A toda hora
me atacan y me atormentan.
Mis enemigos no dejan de atacarme
ni de noche ni de día;
¡son ya demasiados
los orgullosos que me atacan!

3-4 Cuando siento miedo,
confío en ti, mi Dios,
y te alabo por tus promesas;
Confío en ti, mi Dios,
y ya no siento miedo.
¡Nadie podrá
hacerme daño jamás!

Siempre cambian mis palabras,
y sólo piensan en perjudicarme.
Se ponen a espiarme
y hacen planes contra mí;
¡tantas ganas tienen de matarme
que vigilan todos mis pasos!

Dios mío,
¡enójate con mis enemigos
y ponlos en vergüenza!
¡No los dejes escapar!
Anota en tu libro
todas las veces que he huido;
tú bien sabes
las veces que he llorado.
Cuando yo te pida ayuda,
mis enemigos saldrán huyendo.
Yo estoy seguro, Dios mío,
que cuento con tu apoyo.
10 Confío en ti, mi Dios,
y te alabo por tus promesas.
Confío en ti, Señor,
y te alabo por tus promesas.
11 Confío en ti, mi Dios,
y ya no siento miedo.
¡Nadie podrá
hacerme daño jamás!

12 Yo te prometo, Dios mío,
que te cumpliré mis promesas,
y delante de tu altar
te daré las gracias.
13 Tú, mi Dios,
me libraste de caer,
me libraste de morir,
para que nunca deje yo
de andar en tu presencia
que es la luz de la vida.
