Answered Prayer for Deliverance from Adversaries

To the Chief Musician. With ^[a]stringed instruments. A ^[b]Contemplation of David ^(A)when the Ziphites went and said to Saul, “Is David not hiding with us?”

54 Save me, O God, by Your name,
And vindicate me by Your strength.
²Hear my prayer, O God;
Give ear to the words of my mouth.
³For strangers have risen up against me,
And oppressors have sought after my life;
They have not set God before them. Selah

⁴Behold, God is my helper;
The Lord is with those who ^[c]uphold my life.
⁵He will repay my enemies for their evil.
^[d]Cut them off in Your ^[e]truth.

⁶I will freely sacrifice to You;
I will praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good.
⁷For He has delivered me out of all trouble;
^(B)And my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies.

³O God, bevrijd mij door uw sterke naam.
Laat uw kracht mij recht verschaffen.
⁴O God, luister naar mijn gebed,
hoor toch naar de woorden van mijn mond.
⁵Vreemde mensen keren zich tegen mij,
geweldenaars willen mij doden.
Zij denken niet aan God.
⁶Maar God is mijn helper,
de Here geeft mij kracht en steunt mij.
⁷God zal mij wreken tegenover de mensen
die mij naar het leven staan.
Vernietig hen in uw trouw aan mij.
⁸Graag zal ik U offers brengen,
ik doe dat uit dankbaarheid aan U.
Here, ik zal uw naam loven en prijzen,
want U bent zo goed voor mij.
⁹God heeft mij bevrijd uit alle angst en gevaar
en nu kan ik met vreugde naar mijn vijanden kijken.

¹Save me^(B), O God, by your name;^(C)
vindicate me by your might.^(D)
²Hear my prayer, O God;^(E)
listen to the words of my mouth.

³Arrogant foes are attacking me;^(F)
ruthless people^(G) are trying to kill me^(H)—
people without regard for God.^[c]^(I)

⁴Surely God is my help;^(J)
the Lord is the one who sustains me.^(K)

⁵Let evil recoil^(L) on those who slander me;
in your faithfulness^(M) destroy them.

⁶I will sacrifice a freewill offering^(N) to you;
I will praise^(O) your name, Lord, for it is good.^(P)
⁷You have delivered me^(Q) from all my troubles,
and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.^(R)
