³ For I know my transgressions,

so you are right in your verdict

    sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
⁶ Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
    you taught me wisdom^(I) in that secret place.^(J)

⁷ Cleanse^(K) me with hyssop,^(L) and I will be clean;
    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.^(M)
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;^(N)
    let the bones^(O) you have crushed rejoice.
⁹ Hide your face from my sins^(P)
    and blot out^(Q) all my iniquity.

¹⁰ Create in me a pure heart,^(R) O God,
    and renew a steadfast spirit within me.^(S)
11 Do not cast me^(T) from your presence^(U)
    or take your Holy Spirit^(V) from me.
¹² Restore to me the joy of your salvation^(W)
    and grant me a willing spirit,^(X) to sustain me.^(Y)
