Psalm 50
The Acceptable Sacrifice
A Psalm of Asaph.
1 The mighty one, God the Lord,
speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God shines forth.
3 Our God comes and does not keep silence,
before him is a devouring fire,
and a mighty tempest all around him.
4 He calls to the heavens above
and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 “Gather to me my faithful ones,
who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!”
6 The heavens declare his righteousness,
for God himself is judge.Selah
7 “Hear, O my people, and I will speak,
O Israel, I will testify against you.
I am God, your God.
8 Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you;
your burnt offerings are continually before me.
9 I will not accept a bull from your house,
or goats from your folds.
10 For every wild animal of the forest is mine,
the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know all the birds of the air,[a]
and all that moves in the field is mine.
12 “If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
for the world and all that is in it is mine.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls,
or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,[b]
and pay your vows to the Most High.
15 Call on me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
16 But to the wicked God says:
“What right have you to recite my statutes,
or take my covenant on your lips?
17 For you hate discipline,
and you cast my words behind you.
18 You make friends with a thief when you see one,
and you keep company with adulterers.
19 “You give your mouth free rein for evil,
and your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your kin;
you slander your own mother’s child.
21 These things you have done and I have been silent;
you thought that I was one just like yourself.
But now I rebuke you, and lay the charge before you.
22 “Mark this, then, you who forget God,
or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to deliver.
23 Those who bring thanksgiving as their sacrifice honor me;
to those who go the right way[c]
I will show the salvation of God.”

Il Potente, Dio, il Signore, ha parlato
e ha convocato la terra da oriente a occidente.
2 Da Sion, perfetta in bellezza,
Dio è apparso nel suo fulgore.
3 Il nostro Dio viene e non se ne starà in silenzio;
lo precede un fuoco divorante,
intorno a lui infuria la tempesta.
4 Egli chiama gli alti cieli e la terra
per assistere al giudizio del suo popolo:
5 «Radunatemi», dice, «i miei fedeli
che hanno fatto con me un patto mediante il sacrificio».
6 I cieli proclameranno la sua giustizia,
perché Dio stesso sta per giudicare. [Pausa]
7 «Ascolta, popolo mio, e io parlerò;
ascolta, Israele, e io testimonierò contro di te.
Io sono Dio, il tuo Dio.
8 Non ti rimprovero per i tuoi sacrifici;
i tuoi olocausti mi stanno sempre davanti.
9 Non esigo tori dalla tua casa,
né capri dai tuoi ovili.
10 Sono mie infatti tutte le bestie della foresta,
mio è il bestiame che sta sui monti a migliaia.
11 Conosco tutti gli uccelli dei monti
e quel che si muove per la campagna è a mia disposizione.
12 Se avessi fame, non lo direi a te,
perché mio è il mondo, con tutto quello che contiene[a].
13 Mangio forse carne di tori,
o bevo forse sangue di capri?
14 Come sacrificio offri a Dio il ringraziamento
e mantieni le promesse fatte all’Altissimo;
15 poi invocami nel giorno della sventura;
io ti salverò, e tu mi glorificherai».
16 Ma Dio dice all’empio:
«Perché vai elencando le mie leggi
e hai sempre sulle labbra il mio patto,
17 tu che detesti la disciplina
e ti getti dietro alle spalle le mie parole?
18 Se vedi un ladro, ti diletti della sua compagnia
e ti fai compagno degli adùlteri.
19 Abbandoni la tua bocca al male
e la tua lingua trama inganni.
20 Ti siedi e parli contro tuo fratello,
diffami il figlio di tua madre.
21 Hai fatto queste cose, io ho taciuto,
e tu hai pensato che io fossi come te;
ma io ti riprenderò e ti metterò tutto davanti agli occhi.
22 Capite questo, voi che dimenticate Dio,
perché io non vi laceri e nessuno vi liberi.
23 Chi mi offre come sacrificio il ringraziamento, mi glorifica,
e a chi regola bene il suo comportamento,
io farò vedere la salvezza di Dio».

Der Mächtige, Gott der Herr[b], er redet und ruft die Erde
vom Aufgang der Sonne bis zu ihrem Niedergang.
2 Aus Zion, der Schönheit Vollendung,
erscheint Gott im Lichtglanz.
3 Unser Gott kommt und schweigt nicht;
verzehrendes Feuer geht vor ihm her,
und rings um ihn stürmt es gewaltig.
4 Er ruft dem Himmel droben zu
und der Erde, damit er sein Volk richte:
5 »Versammelt mir meine Getreuen,
die den Bund mit mir schlossen über dem Opfer!«
6 Und der Himmel verkündet seine Gerechtigkeit,
dass Gott selbst Richter ist. (Sela.)
7 »Höre, mein Volk, so will ich reden;
Israel, ich lege gegen dich Zeugnis ab!
Ich bin Gott, dein Gott.
8 Deiner Opfer wegen will ich dich nicht tadeln,
sind doch deine Brandopfer stets vor mir.
9 Ich will keinen Stier aus deinem Haus nehmen,
keine Böcke aus deinen Hürden;
10 denn mir gehören alle Tiere des Waldes,
das Vieh auf tausend Bergen.
11 Ich kenne alle Vögel auf den Bergen,
und was sich auf dem Feld regt, ist mir bekannt.
12 Wenn ich hungrig wäre, so würde ich es dir nicht sagen;
denn mir gehört der Erdkreis und was ihn erfüllt.
13 Sollte ich etwa Stierfleisch essen
oder Blut von Böcken trinken?
14 Opfere Gott Dank
und erfülle dem Höchsten deine Gelübde;
15 und rufe mich an am Tag der Not,
so will ich dich erretten, und du sollst mich ehren!«
16 Zu dem Gottlosen aber spricht Gott:
»Was zählst du meine Satzungen auf
und nimmst meinen Bund in deinen Mund,
17 da du doch Zucht[c] hasst
und meine Worte verwirfst[d]?
18 Siehst du einen Dieb, so freundest du dich mit ihm an,
und mit Ehebrechern hast du Gemeinschaft;
19 deinen Mund lässt du Böses reden,
und deine Zunge knüpft Betrug.
20 Du sitzt da und redest gegen deinen Bruder;
den Sohn deiner Mutter verleumdest du.
21 Das hast du getan, und ich habe geschwiegen;
da meintest du, ich sei gleich wie du.
Aber ich will dich zurechtweisen und es dir vor Augen stellen!
22 Seht doch das ein, die ihr Gott vergesst,
damit ich nicht hinwegraffe, und keiner rettet!
23 Wer Dank opfert, der ehrt mich,
und wer [seinen] Weg [recht] ausrichtet,[e]
dem zeige ich das Heil Gottes!«

50 Az Örökkévaló, a leghatalmasabb Isten szól:
szólítja az embereket,
hívja őket, napkelettől napnyugatig.
2 A tökéletes szépségű Sionból
ragyog fel Isten világossága.
3 Bizony, eljön a mi Istenünk,
de nem titokban:
előtte tűz pusztít,
körülötte hatalmas forgószél!
4 Szólítja a Mennyet és a Földet,
hívja őket, hogy ítéletet tartson népe fölött:
5 „Jöjjetek hozzám hűségeseim,
gyűljetek körém,
akik szövetséget kötöttek velem
az áldozat által!”
6 A Menny hirdeti,
hogy igazságos bíró az Isten! Szela
7 „Figyelj rám, népem, most én beszélek!
Izráel népe, most én tanúskodok ellened.
Isten vagyok, a te Istened.
8 Nem vádollak áldozataid miatt,
sem égőáldozataidért,
amelyek szüntelen előttem vannak.
9 De nincs szükségem bikákra,
sem bakokra nyájaidból.
10 Mert enyém minden erdei vad,
enyém az összes nyáj
a sok ezer dombon és hegyen!
11 Jól ismerem a hegyek minden madarát,
enyém az minden mezei vad.
12 Ha megéhezném, nem szólnék neked,
mert enyém az egész világ,
és minden, ami benne van.
13 Nem kell nekem bikák húsa,
s a bakok vérét nem iszom!
14 Adj hálát Istennek,
ez legyen áldozatod,
s ha ígértél valamit a Felségesnek,
teljesítsd!
15 Engem hívj segítségül,
ha bajban vagy,
én majd megszabadítalak,
te pedig dicsőítesz ezért.”
16 A gonosznak pedig ezt mondja Isten:
„Milyen jogon beszélsz rendelkezéseimről,
hogy mered szövetségemet a szádra venni?!
17 Hiszen utálod,
ha figyelmeztetlek és fegyelmezlek,
szavaimat semmibe veszed!
18 Tolvajokkal barátkozol,
és házasságtörők közé keveredsz.
19 Szád telve gonoszsággal,
nyelved csalással.
20 Saját testvéredet is elítéled,
megrágalmazod anyád fiát!
21 Ezt tetted, és én csak hallgattam.
Azt hitted, olyan vagyok, mint te?![a]
De most szemedre vetem,
és figyelmeztetlek!
22 Értsétek hát meg mindannyian, amit mondok,
akik elfelejtkeztek Istenről!
Különben rátok rontok,
ízzé-porrá zúzlak benneteket,
és nem lesz, aki megszabadítson kezemből!
23 Aki dicsérettel és hálaadással áldozik,
az dicsőít engem igazán!
Aki ezen az úton jár,
az tapasztalja meg Isten szabadító hatalmát!”

50 Psaume d’Asaph[a].
Le Dieu suprême, |l’Eternel a parlé |et il a convoqué la terre
du levant du soleil |à son couchant.
2 De Sion, parfaite en beauté,
Dieu resplendit.
3 Qu’il vienne notre Dieu ! |Qu’il ne garde pas le silence !
Devant lui, un feu dévorant,
autour de lui, c’est l’ouragan.
4 Le ciel en haut, il le convoque,
et il convoque aussi la terre : |il vient pour gouverner son peuple.
5 « Rassemblez ceux qui me sont attachés,
ceux qui ont conclu avec moi |l’alliance par le sacrifice. »
6 Le ciel publiera sa justice,
c’est Dieu qui gouverne le monde.
Pause
7 Mon peuple, écoute, je te parle,
Israël, je témoigne contre toi,
moi qui suis Dieu, ton Dieu.
8 Ce n’est pas pour tes sacrifices |que je t’adresse des reproches :
j’ai constamment |tes holocaustes sous les yeux.
9 Je ne prendrai |ni des taureaux dans ton étable,
ni des boucs dans tes fermes,
10 car tous les animaux |des forêts sont à moi,
à moi, les bêtes par milliers |dans les montagnes !
11 Je connais tous les oiseaux des montagnes
et tous les animaux des champs |me sont à portée de la main.
12 Si j’avais faim, te le dirais-je ?
L’univers est à moi |et tout ce qu’il renferme.
13 Vais-je manger |la viande des taureaux,
ou m’abreuver |du sang des boucs ?
14 En sacrifice à Dieu |offre donc ta reconnaissance !
Accomplis envers le Très-Haut |les vœux que tu as faits.
15 Alors tu pourras m’appeler |au jour de la détresse :
je te délivrerai, |et tu me rendras gloire.
16 Au méchant aussi, Dieu s’adresse :
« Pourquoi rabâches-tu mes lois ?
Tu as mon alliance à la bouche,
17 mais tu détestes l’instruction
et tu rejettes mes paroles |au loin, derrière toi.
18 A peine as-tu vu un voleur, |tu deviens son complice,
et puis, tu fais cause commune |avec les adultères.
19 Ta bouche forge la malice.
Ta langue tisse le mensonge.
20 Lorsque tu t’assieds avec d’autres, |tu calomnies ton frère,
et tu jettes le déshonneur |sur le fils de ta mère.
21 Lorsque tu agissais ainsi |et que je n’ai rien dit,
as-tu vraiment imaginé |que je te ressemblais ?
Aussi je vais te corriger, |tout mettre sous tes yeux.
22 Comprenez donc cela, |vous qui ignorez Dieu,
sinon je vous déchirerai |et nul ne vous délivrera.
23 Qui, en guise de sacrifice, |m’offre de la reconnaissance, |celui-là me rend gloire,
et à celui qui règle son chemin,
je ferai voir |le salut que Dieu donne. »
