Frömmigkeit ohne Selbstbetrug
50 Ein Lied von Asaf.
Gott, der Herr, der Mächtige, spricht;
er ruft die Welt vom Osten bis zum Westen.
2 Auf dem Zion, dem schönsten aller Berge,
erscheint Gott in strahlendem Glanz.
3 Ja, unser Gott kommt,
er wird nicht länger schweigen.
Ein verheerendes Feuer lodert vor ihm her,
um ihn tobt ein schwerer Sturm.
4 Himmel und Erde ruft er zu Zeugen,
denn über sein Volk hält er Gericht:
5 »Versammelt alle, die zu mir gehören!«, verkündet er,
»alle, die mit mir den Bund geschlossen haben!
Damals schworen sie mir Treue und Gehorsam
und bekräftigten es mit einem Opfer.«
6 Der Himmel kann bezeugen, dass Gott im Recht ist,
wenn er jetzt als Richter vor sein Volk tritt:
7 »Höre, Israel, nun rede ich!
Mein Volk, ich klage dich an, ich, dein Gott!
8 Nicht wegen deiner Schlachtopfer weise ich dich zurecht,
auch deine Brandopfer bringst du mir regelmäßig.
9 Doch ich brauche deine Opfer nicht –
weder die Stiere aus deinem Stall
noch die Böcke von deiner Weide.
10 Denn alle Tiere gehören mir ohnehin: das Wild in Wald und Feld,
die Tiere auf den Bergen und Hügeln.
11 Ich kenne jeden Vogel unter dem Himmel
und auch die vielen kleinen Tiere auf den Wiesen.
12 Selbst wenn ich Hunger hätte, würde ich dich um nichts bitten;
denn die ganze Welt gehört mir und alles, was es dort gibt.
13 Denkst du wirklich, ich wollte Fleisch von Stieren essen
und Blut von Böcken trinken?
14 Dank ist das Opfer, das ich von dir erwarte;
erfülle die Versprechen, die du mir, dem Höchsten, gegeben hast!
15 Wenn du keinen Ausweg mehr siehst, dann rufe mich zu Hilfe!
Ich will dich retten, und du sollst mich preisen.«
16 Wer aber Gott die Treue bricht, zu dem sagt er:
»Was erlaubst du dir eigentlich? Du sagst immer wieder meine Gebote auf
und berufst dich auf meinen Bund.
17 Doch meine Zurechtweisung willst du nicht hören;
du tust, was du willst, und verwirfst meine Ordnungen.
18 Mit Dieben machst du gemeinsame Sache,
und mit Ehebrechern schließt du Freundschaft.
19 Gemeine Reden kommen dir leicht über die Lippen,
du betrügst schon, wenn du nur den Mund aufmachst!
20 Deine Mitmenschen bringst du in Verruf,
sogar deinen eigenen Bruder verleumdest du.
21 Bis jetzt habe ich zu deinem Treiben geschwiegen,
darum dachtest du, ich sei wie du.
Aber nun weise ich dich zurecht
und halte dir deine Untreue vor Augen.
22 Ihr habt mich vergessen, euren Gott. Hört doch auf das, was ich sage;
sonst werde ich euch vernichten. Dann kommt jede Rettung zu spät!
23 Wer mir dankt, der bringt damit ein Opfer, das mich wirklich ehrt.
Er macht den Weg frei, auf dem ich ihm Rettung bringe!«

50 El poderoso Dios[b], el Señor(A), ha hablado,
y convocado a la tierra, desde el nacimiento del sol hasta su ocaso(B).
2 Desde Sión, perfección de hermosura(C),
Dios ha resplandecido(D).
3 Que venga nuestro Dios y no calle(E);
el fuego consume delante de Él(F),
y a su derredor hay gran tempestad(G).
4 Él convoca a los cielos desde lo alto(H),
y a la tierra, para juzgar a su pueblo,
5 y dice: Juntadme a mis santos(I),
los que han hecho conmigo pacto(J) con sacrificio(K).
6 Y los cielos declaran su[c] justicia(L),
porque Dios mismo es el juez(M). (Selah[d])
7 Oye, pueblo mío, y hablaré;
Israel, yo testificaré contra ti(N).
Yo soy Dios, tu Dios(O).
8 No te reprendo por tus sacrificios(P),
ni[e] por tus holocaustos, que están continuamente delante de mí.
9 No tomaré novillo de tu casa(Q),
ni machos cabríos de tus apriscos.
10 Porque mío es todo animal del bosque(R),
y el ganado sobre mil colinas[f].
11 Toda ave de los montes conozco(S),
y mío es[g] todo lo que en el campo se mueve.
12 Si yo tuviera hambre, no te lo diría a ti;
porque mío es el mundo y todo lo que en él hay[h](T).
13 ¿Acaso he de comer carne de toros[i](U),
o beber sangre de machos cabríos?
14 Ofrece a Dios sacrificio de acción de gracias(V),
y cumple tus votos al Altísimo(W);
15 e invócame en el día de la angustia(X);
yo te libraré[j](Y), y tú me honrarás(Z).
16 Pero al impío Dios le dice:
¿Qué derecho tienes tú de hablar de mis estatutos,
y de tomar mi pacto en tus labios[k](AA)?
17 Pues tú aborreces la disciplina(AB),
y a tus espaldas echas mis palabras(AC).
18 Cuando ves a un ladrón, te complaces con él[l](AD),
y con adúlteros te asocias[m](AE).
19 Das rienda suelta a[n] tu boca para el mal(AF),
y tu lengua trama engaño(AG).
20 Te sientas y hablas contra tu hermano(AH);
al hijo de tu propia madre calumnias.
21 Estas cosas has hecho, y yo he guardado silencio(AI);
pensaste que yo era tal como tú;
pero te reprenderé, y delante de tus ojos expondré tus delitos(AJ).
22 Entended ahora esto, los que os olvidáis de Dios(AK),
no sea que os despedace, y no haya quien os libre(AL).
23 El que ofrece sacrificio de acción de gracias me honra(AM);
y al que ordena[o] bien su camino(AN),
le mostraré la salvación de Dios(AO).

50 The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.
18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.
