New International Version

Psalm 47[a]

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.

1 Clap your hands,(A) all you nations;
    shout to God with cries of joy.(B)

2 For the Lord Most High(C) is awesome,(D)
    the great King(E) over all the earth.
3 He subdued(F) nations under us,
    peoples under our feet.
4 He chose our inheritance(G) for us,
    the pride of Jacob,(H) whom he loved.[b]

5 God has ascended(I) amid shouts of joy,(J)
    the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets.(K)
6 Sing praises(L) to God, sing praises;
    sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth;(M)
    sing to him a psalm(N) of praise.

8 God reigns(O) over the nations;
    God is seated on his holy throne.(P)
9 The nobles of the nations assemble
    as the people of the God of Abraham,
for the kings[c] of the earth belong to God;(Q)
    he is greatly exalted.(R)

47 Til korlederen: En sang af Koras slægt.

2 Klap i hænderne af glæde, alle folkeslag!
    Bryd ud i jubelråb for vor Gud!
3 For Herren er Gud over alle guder,
    den mægtigste hersker over hele jorden.
4 Han undertvinger folkeslagene,
    og lægger vore fjender for vore fødder.
5 Han udvalgte et land, som han gav os.
    Hans elskede folk, Israel, er stolt over at eje det.
6 Gud stiger op på sin trone under jubelråb
    til fanfarer fra vædderhornet.
7 Lovsyng Gud, ja syng!
    Lovsyng Kongen, ja syng!
8 For Gud er Konge over hele jorden,
    pris ham med sang!
9 Han sidder på sin hellige trone,
    hvorfra han regerer over alle folkeslag.
10 Lad nationernes fyrster samles
    og prise ham sammen med Abrahams Guds folk.
Han har autoritet over alle jordens fyrster.
    Han er større end alt og alle.

47 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
2 For the Lord Most High is awesome;
He is a great (A)King over all the earth.
3 (B)He will subdue the peoples under us,
And the nations under our feet.
4 He will choose our (C)inheritance for us,
The excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah

5 (D)God has gone up with a shout,
The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
7 (E)For God is the King of all the earth;
(F)Sing praises with understanding.

8 (G)God reigns over the nations;
God (H)sits on His (I)holy throne.
9 The princes of the people have gathered together,
(J)The people of the God of Abraham.
(K)For the shields of the earth belong to God;
He is greatly exalted.
