Cântico dos descendentes de Coré. Para o diretor do coro.

46 Deus é o nosso refúgio e a nossa força;
é um socorro infalível nos tempos de angústia.
Por isso, não havemos de ter medo,
ainda que a Terra se mude toda,
ainda que as montanhas se desfaçam para dentro dos mares.
Ainda que os mares rujam e espumem revoltos e agitados;
ainda que os montes tremam todos. (Pausa)

Há um rio correndo pela cidade de Deus
e que alegra esse lugar santo onde habita o Altíssimo.
Deus mesmo está ali,
por isso, essa cidade é inabalável.
Deus está pronto a socorrê-la sem demora.
As nações levantam-se em fúria, agitam-se de raiva;

Ele faz acabar as guerras por toda a Terra;
quebra o arco e despedaça a lança;
com chamas destrói os carros de combate.
10 “Calem-se e saibam que eu sou Deus!
Serei honrado entre todas as nações do mundo!”

11 O Senhor dos exércitos, está connosco.
Ele, o Deus de Jacob, é o nosso refúgio. (Pausa)

46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

God Is Our Fortress

To the choirmaster. Of (A)the Sons of Korah. According to (B)Alamoth.[a] A Song.

46 God is our (C)refuge and strength,
    a very (D)present[b] help in (E)trouble.
Therefore we will not fear (F)though the earth give way,
    though the mountains be moved into (G)the heart of the sea,
though (H)its waters roar and foam,
    though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

There is (I)a river whose streams make glad (J)the city of God,
    the holy (K)habitation of the Most High.
(L)God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
    God will help her when morning dawns.
(M)The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
    he (N)utters his voice, the earth (O)melts.
(P)The Lord of hosts is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

(Q)Come, behold the works of the Lord,
    how he has brought desolations on the earth.
(R)He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
    he (S)breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
    (T)he burns the chariots with fire.
10 (U)“Be still, and know that I am God.
    (V)I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth!”
11 (W)The Lord of hosts is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
