Psalm 46^[a]

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth.^[b] A song.

¹God is our refuge^(A) and strength,^(B)
    an ever-present^(C) help^(D) in trouble.^(E)
²Therefore we will not fear,^(F) though the earth give way^(G)
    and the mountains fall^(H) into the heart of the sea,^(I)
³though its waters roar^(J) and foam^(K)
    and the mountains quake^(L) with their surging.^[c]

Isaiah 46:9-13

New International Version

⁹Remember the former things,^(A) those of long ago;^(B)
    I am God, and there is no other;
    I am God, and there is none like me.^(C)
¹⁰I make known the end from the beginning,^(D)
    from ancient times,^(E) what is still to come.^(F)
I say, ‘My purpose will stand,^(G)
    and I will do all that I please.’
¹¹From the east I summon^(H) a bird of prey;^(I)
    from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose.
What I have said, that I will bring about;
    what I have planned,^(J) that I will do.^(K)
¹²Listen^(L) to me, you stubborn-hearted,^(M)
    you who are now far from my righteousness.^(N)
¹³I am bringing my righteousness^(O) near,
    it is not far away;
    and my salvation^(P) will not be delayed.
I will grant salvation to Zion,^(Q)
    my splendor^(R) to Israel.
