Psalm 45:15-69:21

¹⁵ They will be brought with joy and rejoicing;
They will enter into the King’s palace.

¹⁶ In place of your fathers will be your sons;
You shall make them princes in all the earth.
¹⁷ I will make ^(A)Your name known among all generations;
Therefore the peoples ^(B)will praise You forever and ever.

⁴ There is a ^(J)river whose streams make the ^(K)city of God happy,
The holy ^(L)dwelling places of the Most High.
⁵ God is ^(M)in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will ^(N)help her ^[e]when morning dawns.
⁶ The ^[f]nations ^(O)made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He ^[g](P)raised His voice, the earth ^(Q)quaked.
⁷ The Lord of armies ^(R)is with us;
The God of Jacob is ^(S)our stronghold. Selah

⁸ Come, ^(T)behold the works of the Lord,
^[h]Who has inflicted ^(U)horrific events on the earth.
⁹ He ^(V)makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He ^(W)breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He ^(X)burns the chariots with fire.
¹⁰ “^[i]Stop striving and ^(Y)know that I am God;
I will be ^(Z)exalted among the ^[j]nations, I will be exalted on the earth.”
¹¹ The Lord of armies is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah

⁵ God has ^(AH)ascended ^[k]with a shout,
The Lord, ^[l]with the ^(AI)sound of a trumpet.
^6 (AJ)Sing praises to God, sing praises;
Sing praises to ^(AK)our King, sing praises.
⁷ For God is the ^(AL)King of all the earth;
Sing praises ^(AM)with a psalm of wisdom.
⁸ God ^(AN)reigns over the nations,
God ^[m]sits on ^(AO)His holy throne.
⁹ The ^[n](AP)princes of the people have assembled as the ^(AQ)people of the God of Abraham,
For the ^(AR)shields of the earth belong to God;
He is ^(AS)highly exalted.

⁴ For, behold, the ^(BA)kings arrived,
They passed by together.
⁵ They saw it, then they were amazed;
They were ^(BB)terrified, they fled in a hurry.
^6 [o]Panic seized them there,
Anguish, as that of ^(BC)a woman in childbirth.
⁷ With the ^(BD)east wind
You ^(BE)smash the ^(BF)ships of Tarshish.
⁸ Just as we have heard, so have we seen
In the city of the Lord of armies, in the city of our God;
God will ^(BG)establish her forever. Selah

⁹ We have thought over ^(BH)Your goodness, God,
In the midst of Your temple.
¹⁰ As is Your ^(BI)name, God,
So is Your ^(BJ)praise to the ends of the earth;
Your ^(BK)right hand is full of righteousness.
¹¹ Mount ^(BL)Zion shall be glad,
The ^(BM)daughters of Judah shall rejoice
Because of Your judgments.
¹² Walk around Zion and encircle her;
Count her ^(BN)towers;
¹³ Consider her ^(BO)ramparts;
Go through her palaces,
So that you may ^(BP)tell of her to the next generation.
¹⁴ For ^[p]such is God,
Our God forever and ever;
He will ^(BQ)lead us ^[q]until death.

⁵ Why should I ^(BZ)fear in days of adversity,
When the injustice of those who betray me surrounds me,
⁶ Those who ^(CA)trust in their wealth
And boast in the abundance of their riches?
⁷ No one can by any means ^(CB)redeem another
Or give God a ^(CC)ransom for him—
⁸ For ^(CD)the redemption of ^[s]his soul is priceless,
And he should cease imagining forever—
⁹ That he might ^(CE)live on eternally,
That he might not ^[t](CF)undergo decay.

¹⁰ For he sees that even ^(CG)wise people die;
The ^(CH)foolish and the stupid alike perish
And ^(CI)leave their wealth to others.
¹¹ Their ^[u](CJ)inner thought is that their houses ^(CK)are forever
And their dwelling places to all generations;
They have ^(CL)named their lands after their own names.
¹² But ^(CM)man in his splendor will not endure;
He is like the animals that ^[v]perish.

¹³ This is the ^(CN)way of those who are foolish,
And of those after them who ^(CO)approve their words. Selah
¹⁴ Like sheep they sink down ^(CP)to ^[w]Sheol;
Death will be their shepherd;
And the ^(CQ)upright will rule over them in the morning,
And their form shall be for ^[x]Sheol ^(CR)to consume
^[y]So that they have no lofty home.
¹⁵ But God will ^(CS)redeem my soul from the ^[z]power of ^[aa]Sheol,
For ^(CT)He will receive me. Selah

¹⁶ Do not be afraid ^(CU)when a person becomes rich,
When the splendor of his house is increased;
¹⁷ For when he dies, he will ^(CV)take nothing with him;
His ^[ab]wealth will not descend after him.
¹⁸ Though while he lives he ^(CW)congratulates ^[ac]himself—
And though people praise you when you do well for yourself—
^19 [ad]He will ^(CX)go to the generation of his fathers;
They will never see ^(CY)the light.
^20 (CZ)Mankind in its splendor, yet without understanding,
Is ^(DA)like the animals that ^[ae]perish.

⁷ “^(DO)Hear, My people, and I will speak;
Israel, I will testify ^[ah]against you;
I am God, ^(DP)your God.
⁸ I do ^(DQ)not rebuke you for your sacrifices,
And your burnt offerings are continually before Me.
⁹ I will not take a ^(DR)bull from your house,
Nor male goats from your folds.
¹⁰ For ^(DS)every animal of the forest is Mine,
The cattle on a thousand hills.
¹¹ I know every ^(DT)bird of the mountains,
And everything that moves in the field is ^[ai]Mine.
¹² If I were hungry I would not tell you,
For the ^(DU)world is Mine, and ^[aj]everything it contains.
¹³ Shall I eat the flesh of ^[ak](DV)bulls
Or drink the blood of male goats?
¹⁴ Offer God ^(DW)a sacrifice of thanksgiving
And ^(DX)pay your vows to the Most High;
^15 (DY)Call upon Me on the day of trouble;
I will ^(DZ)rescue you, and you will ^(EA)honor Me.”

¹⁶ But to the wicked God says,
“What right do you have to tell of My statutes
And to take ^(EB)My covenant in your mouth?
¹⁷ For you yourself ^(EC)hate discipline,
And you ^(ED)throw My words behind you.
¹⁸ When you see a thief, you ^(EE)become friends with him,
And ^[al]you ^(EF)associate with adulterers.
¹⁹ You ^[am](EG)let your mouth loose in evil,
And your ^(EH)tongue harnesses deceit.
²⁰ You sit and ^(EI)speak against your brother;
You slander your own mother’s son.
²¹ These things you have done and ^(EJ)I kept silent;
You thought that I was just like you;
I will ^(EK)rebuke you and present the case before your eyes.

²² “Now consider this, you who ^(EL)forget God,
Or I will ^(EM)tear you in pieces, and there will be no one to save you.
²³ He who ^(EN)offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me;
And to him who ^(EO)sets his way properly
I will ^(EP)show the salvation of God.”

⁵ Behold, I was ^(EZ)brought forth in guilt,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
⁶ Behold, You desire ^(FA)truth in the ^[ar]innermost being,
And in secret You will ^(FB)make wisdom known to me.
^7 [as]Purify me ^(FC)with hyssop, and I will be clean;
^[at]Cleanse me, and I will be ^(FD)whiter than snow.
^8 [au]Let me hear ^(FE)joy and gladness,
Let the ^(FF)bones You have broken rejoice.
^9 (FG)Hide Your face from my sins
And wipe out all my guilty deeds.

^10 (FH)Create ^[av]in me a ^(FI)clean heart, God,
And renew a ^(FJ)steadfast spirit within me.
^11 (FK)Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your ^(FL)Holy Spirit from me.
¹² Restore to me the ^(FM)joy of Your salvation,
And sustain me with a ^(FN)willing spirit.
¹³ Then I will ^(FO)teach wrongdoers Your ways,
And sinners will ^[aw]be ^(FP)converted to You.

¹⁴ Save me from ^(FQ)the guilt of bloodshed, God, ^(FR)the God of my salvation;
Then my ^(FS)tongue will joyfully sing of Your righteousness.
¹⁵ Lord, ^[ax](FT)open my lips,
So that my mouth may ^(FU)declare Your praise.
¹⁶ For You ^(FV)do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it;
You do not take pleasure in burnt offering.
¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a ^(FW)broken spirit;
A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.

^18 (FX)By Your favor do good to Zion;
^[ay](FY)Build the walls of Jerusalem.
¹⁹ Then You will delight in ^[az](FZ)righteous sacrifices,
In ^(GA)burnt offering and whole burnt offering;
Then ^[ba]bulls will be offered on Your altar.

^5 [bd]But God will break you down forever;
He will snatch you up and ^(GJ)tear you away from your tent,
And ^(GK)uproot you from the ^(GL)land of the living. Selah
⁶ The righteous will ^(GM)see and fear,
And they will ^(GN)laugh at him, saying,
⁷ “Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge,
But ^(GO)trusted in the abundance of his riches
And ^(GP)was strong in ^[be]his evil desire.”

⁸ But as for me, I am like a ^(GQ)green olive tree in the house of God;
I ^(GR)trust in the faithfulness of God forever and ever.
⁹ I will ^(GS)praise You forever, because You have done it,
And I will wait on Your name, ^(GT)for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.

⁴ Have the workers of injustice ^(GZ)no knowledge,
Who eat up My people like they ate bread,
And have not called upon God?
⁵ They were in great ^[bi]fear there, ^(HA)where no ^[bj]fear had been;
For God ^(HB)scattered the bones of ^[bk]him who encamped against you;
You ^(HC)put them to shame, because ^(HD)God had rejected them.
⁶ Oh, that ^(HE)the salvation of Israel would come from Zion!
When God restores the fortunes of His people,
Jacob shall rejoice, Israel shall be glad.

⁴ Behold, ^(HN)God is my helper;
The Lord is ^[bp]the ^(HO)sustainer of my soul.
^5 [bq]He will ^(HP)pay back the evil to my enemies;
^[br](HQ)Destroy them ^(HR)in Your ^[bs]faithfulness.

^6 [bt](HS)Willingly I will sacrifice to You;
I will ^(HT)praise Your name, Lord, for it is good.
⁷ For ^[bu]He has ^(HU)saved me from all ^[bv]trouble,
And my eye has ^(HV)looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.

⁴ My ^(IE)heart is in anguish within me,
And the terrors of ^(IF)death have fallen upon me.
⁵ Fear and ^(IG)trembling come upon me,
And ^[bz](IH)horror has ^[ca]overwhelmed me.
⁶ I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove!
I would fly away and ^[cb](II)be at rest.
⁷ Behold, I would flee far away,
I would ^(IJ)spend my nights in the wilderness. Selah
⁸ I would hurry to my place of refuge
From the ^(IK)stormy wind and heavy gale.”

⁹ Confuse them, Lord, ^(IL)divide their tongues,
For I have seen ^(IM)violence and strife in the city.
¹⁰ Day and night they go around her upon her walls,
And evil and harm are in her midst.
^11 (IN)Destruction is in her midst;
^(IO)Oppression and deceit do not depart from her ^[cc]streets.

¹² For it is ^(IP)not an enemy who taunts me,
Then I could endure it;
Nor is it one who hates me who ^(IQ)has exalted himself against me,
Then I could hide myself from him.
¹³ But it is you, a man ^[cd]my equal,
My ^(IR)companion and my ^(IS)confidant;
¹⁴ We who had sweet ^[ce]fellowship together,
^(IT)Walked in the house of God among the commotion.
¹⁵ May ^[cf]death come ^(IU)deceitfully upon them;
May they ^(IV)go down alive to ^[cg]Sheol,
For evil is in their dwelling, in their midst.

¹⁶ As for me, I shall ^(IW)call upon God,
And the Lord will save me.
^17 (IX)Evening and ^(IY)morning and at ^(IZ)noon, I will complain and moan,
And He will hear my voice.
¹⁸ He will ^(JA)redeem my soul in peace ^[ch]from the battle which is against me,
For they are ^(JB)many who are aggressive toward me.
¹⁹ God will ^(JC)hear and humiliate them—
Even the one ^(JD)who ^[ci]sits enthroned from ancient times— Selah
With whom there ^[cj]is no change,
And who ^(JE)do not fear God.
²⁰ He has put forth his hands against ^(JF)those who were at peace with him;
He has ^[ck](JG)violated his covenant.
²¹ His ^[cl]speech was ^(JH)smoother than butter,
But his heart was war;
His words were ^(JI)softer than oil,
Yet they were drawn ^(JJ)swords.

^22 (JK)Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;
^(JL)He will never allow the righteous to ^[cm](JM)be shaken.
²³ But You, God, will bring them down to the ^(JN)pit of destruction;
^(JO)Men of bloodshed and deceit will ^(JP)not live out half their days.
But I will ^(JQ)trust in You.

⁸ You ^(KG)have taken account of my ^[da]miseries;
Put my ^(KH)tears in Your bottle.
Are they not in ^(KI)Your book?
⁹ Then my enemies will ^(KJ)turn back ^(KK)on the day when I call;
This I know, ^[db]that ^(KL)God is for me.
¹⁰ In God, whose word I praise,
In the Lord, whose word I praise,
¹¹ In God I have put my ^[dc]trust, I shall not be afraid.
What can mankind do to me?
¹² Your ^(KM)vows are binding upon me, God;
I will render thanksgiving offerings to You.
¹³ For You have ^(KN)saved my soul from death,
^[dd]Indeed ^(KO)my feet from stumbling,
So that I may ^(KP)walk before God
In the ^(KQ)light of the ^[de]living.

⁴ My soul is among ^(KY)lions;
I must lie among those who devour,
Among sons of mankind whose ^(KZ)teeth are spears and arrows,
And their ^(LA)tongue is a sharp sword.
^5 (LB)Be exalted above the heavens, God;
May Your glory be above all the earth.
⁶ They have prepared a ^(LC)net for my steps;
My soul is ^(LD)bowed down;
They ^(LE)dug a pit before me;
They themselves have ^(LF)fallen into the midst of it. Selah

^7 (LG)My ^(LH)heart is steadfast, God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!
⁸ Awake, ^(LI)my glory!
Awake, ^(LJ)harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
^9 (LK)I will praise You, Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to You among the ^[dk]nations.
¹⁰ For Your ^(LL)goodness is great to the heavens
And Your ^[dl]truth to the clouds.
^11 (LM)Be exalted above the heavens, God;
May Your glory be above all the earth.

⁶ God, ^(LV)shatter their teeth in their mouth;
Break out the fangs of the young lions, Lord.
⁷ May they ^(LW)flow away like water that runs off;
When he ^[dt](LX)aims his arrows, may they be as ^[du]headless shafts.
⁸ May they be like a snail which goes along in slime,
Like the ^(LY)miscarriage of a woman that never sees the sun.
⁹ Before your ^(LZ)pots can feel the fire of thorns
He will ^(MA)sweep them away with a whirlwind, the ^[dv]green and the burning alike.

¹⁰ The ^(MB)righteous will rejoice when he ^(MC)sees vengeance;
He will ^(MD)wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
¹¹ And people will say, “There certainly is ^[dw](ME)a reward for the righteous;
There certainly is a God who ^(MF)judges on the earth!”

⁹ Because of ^[eh]his ^(MZ)strength I will watch for You,
For God is my ^(NA)refuge.
^10 [ei]My God ^(NB)in His faithfulness will meet me;
God will let me ^(NC)look triumphantly upon my enemies.
¹¹ Do not kill them, ^(ND)or my people will forget;
^[ej](NE)Scatter them by Your power and bring them down,
Lord, ^(NF)our shield.
^12 [ek]On account of the ^(NG)sin of their mouths and the words of their lips,
May they even be ^(NH)caught in their pride,
And on account of ^(NI)curses and lies which they tell.
^13 [el](NJ)Destroy them in wrath, ^[em]destroy them so that they will no longer exist;
So that people may ^(NK)know that God ^[en]rules in Jacob,
To the ends of the earth. Selah
¹⁴ They ^(NL)return at evening, they howl like a dog,
And prowl around the city.
¹⁵ They ^(NM)wander about ^[eo]for food
And ^[ep]murmur if they are not satisfied.

¹⁶ But as for me, I will ^(NN)sing of Your strength;
Yes, I will ^(NO)joyfully sing of Your faithfulness in the ^(NP)morning,
For You have been my ^(NQ)refuge
And a ^(NR)place of refuge on the day of my distress.
^17 (NS)My strength, I will sing praises to You;
For God is my ^(NT)refuge, the ^[eq]God who shows me favor.

⁶ God has spoken in His ^[ez](OG)holiness:
“I will triumph, I will divide up ^(OH)Shechem, and measure out the Valley of ^(OI)Succoth.
^7 (OJ)Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine;
^(OK)Ephraim also is the ^[fa]helmet of My head;
Judah is My ^(OL)scepter.
^8 (OM)Moab is My washbowl;
I will throw My sandal over ^(ON)Edom;
Shout loud, ^(OO)Philistia, because of Me!”

⁹ Who will bring me into the besieged city?
Who ^[fb]will lead me to Edom?
¹⁰ Have You Yourself not ^(OP)rejected us, God?
And ^(OQ)will You not go out with our armies, God?
¹¹ Oh give us help against the enemy,
For ^(OR)rescue ^[fc]by man is worthless.
^12 [fd]Through God we will ^(OS)do valiantly,
And it is He who will ^(OT)trample down our enemies.

⁵ For You have heard my ^(PD)vows, God;
You have given me the inheritance of those who ^(PE)fear Your name.
⁶ You will ^[ff](PF)prolong the king’s ^[fg]life;
His years will be like generations.
⁷ He will ^[fh]sit enthroned ^(PG)before God forever;
Appoint ^(PH)faithfulness and truth that they may watch over him.
⁸ So I will ^(PI)sing praise to Your name forever,
That I may ^(PJ)pay my vows day by day.

³ How long will you attack a man,
That you may murder him, all of you,
Like a ^(PO)leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
⁴ They have planned only to thrust him down from his high position;
They ^(PP)delight in falsehood;
They ^(PQ)bless with ^[fj]their mouth,
But inwardly they curse. Selah

⁵ My soul, ^(PR)wait in silence for God alone,
For my hope is from Him.
⁶ He alone is ^(PS)my rock and my salvation,
My refuge; I will not be shaken.
⁷ My ^(PT)salvation and my glory rest on God;
The rock of my strength, my ^(PU)refuge is in God.
^8 (PV)Trust in Him at all times, you people;
^(PW)Pour out your hearts before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah

⁹ People of ^(PX)low standing are only ^(PY)breath, and people of rank are a ^(PZ)lie;
In the ^(QA)balances they go up.
Together they are lighter than breath.
^10 (QB)Do not trust in oppression,
And do not vainly rely on ^(QC)robbery;
If wealth increases, ^(QD)do not set your heart on it.

¹¹ God has ^(QE)spoken ^[fk]once;
^[fl]Twice I have heard this:
That ^(QF)power belongs to God;
¹² And faithfulness ^(QG)is Yours, Lord,
For You ^(QH)reward a person according to his work.

⁶ When I remember You ^(QR)on my bed,
I meditate on You in the ^(QS)night watches,
⁷ For ^(QT)You have been my help,
And in the ^(QU)shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
⁸ My soul ^(QV)clings ^[fo]to You;
Your ^(QW)right hand takes hold of me.

⁹ But those who ^(QX)seek my ^[fp]life to destroy it,
Will go into the ^[fq](QY)depths of the earth.
^10 [fr]They will be ^[fs](QZ)turned over to the power of the sword;
They will be a ^[ft](RA)prey for foxes.
¹¹ But the ^(RB)king will rejoice in God;
Everyone who ^(RC)swears by Him will boast,
For the ^(RD)mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.

⁷ But ^(RP)God ^[gc]will shoot an arrow at them;
Suddenly ^[gd]they will be wounded.
⁸ So ^[ge]they ^[gf]will ^(RQ)make him stumble;
^(RR)Their own tongue is against them;
All who see them will ^(RS)shake their heads.
⁹ Then all people ^[gg]will ^(RT)fear,
And they ^[gh]will ^(RU)declare the work of God,
And ^[gi]will consider ^[gj]what He has done.
¹⁰ The righteous person will be ^(RV)glad in the Lord and ^(RW)take refuge in Him;
And all the upright in heart will boast.

⁵ By ^(SE)awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, ^(SF)God of our salvation,
You who are the trust of all the ^(SG)ends of the earth and the farthest ^[go](SH)sea;
⁶ Who ^(SI)establishes the mountains by His strength,
Who is ^(SJ)encircled with might;
⁷ Who ^(SK)stills the roaring of the seas,
The roaring of their waves,
And the ^(SL)turmoil of the nations.
⁸ They who dwell at the ^(SM)ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs;
You make the ^[gp]sunrise and the sunset shout for joy.

⁹ You visit the earth and ^(SN)cause it to overflow;
You greatly ^(SO)enrich it;
The ^[gq](SP)stream of God is full of water;
You prepare their ^(SQ)grain, for so You prepare ^[gr]the earth.
¹⁰ You water its furrows abundantly,
You ^[gs]settle its ridges,
You soften it ^(SR)with showers,
You bless its growth.
¹¹ You have crowned the year ^[gt]with Your ^(SS)goodness,
And Your ^[gu]paths ^(ST)drip with fatness.
^12 (SU)The pastures of the wilderness drip,
And the ^(SV)hills encircle themselves with rejoicing.
¹³ The meadows are ^(SW)clothed with flocks
And the valleys are ^(SX)covered with grain;
They ^(SY)shout for joy, yes, they sing.

^5 (TG)Come and see the works of God,
Who is ^(TH)awesome in His deeds toward the sons of mankind.
⁶ He ^(TI)turned the sea into dry land;
They passed through ^(TJ)the river on foot;
Let’s ^(TK)rejoice there, in Him!
⁷ He ^(TL)rules by His might forever;
His ^(TM)eyes keep watch on the nations;
The rebellious shall not ^(TN)exalt themselves! Selah

⁸ Bless our God, you peoples,
And ^[gv](TO)sound His praise abroad,
⁹ Who ^[gw](TP)keeps us in life,
And ^(TQ)does not allow our feet to ^[gx]slip.
¹⁰ For You have ^(TR)put us to the test, God;
You have ^(TS)refined us as silver is refined.
¹¹ You ^(TT)brought us into the net;
You laid an oppressive burden upon ^[gy]us.
¹² You made men ^(TU)ride over our heads;
We went through ^(TV)fire and through water.
Yet You ^(TW)brought us out into a place of abundance.
¹³ I shall ^(TX)come into Your house with burnt offerings;
I shall ^(TY)pay You my vows,
¹⁴ Which my lips uttered
And my mouth spoke when I was ^(TZ)in distress.
¹⁵ I shall ^(UA)offer to You burnt offerings of fat animals,
With the smoke of ^(UB)rams;
I shall make an offering of ^[gz]bulls with male goats. Selah

^16 (UC)Come and hear, all who ^[ha]fear God,
And I will ^(UD)tell of what He has done for my soul.
¹⁷ I cried to Him with my mouth,
And ^[hb]He was ^(UE)exalted with my tongue.
¹⁸ If I ^[hc](UF)regard wickedness in my heart,
The ^(UG)Lord will not hear;
¹⁹ But ^(UH)God has heard;
He has given attention to the sound of my prayer.
^20 (UI)Blessed be God,
Who ^(UJ)has not turned away my prayer
Nor His favor from me.

⁵ A ^(VF)father of the fatherless and a ^(VG)judge ^[hk]for the widows,
Is God in His ^(VH)holy dwelling.
⁶ God ^[hl](VI)makes a home for the lonely;
He ^(VJ)leads out the prisoners into prosperity,
Only ^(VK)the rebellious live in parched lands.

⁷ God, when You ^(VL)went forth before Your people,
When You ^(VM)marched through the desert, Selah
⁸ The ^(VN)earth quaked;

^[hm](VP)Sinai itself quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
⁹ You ^(VQ)made plentiful rain fall, God;
You confirmed Your inheritance when it was ^[hn]parched.
¹⁰ Your creatures settled in it;
In Your kindness You ^(VR)provided for the poor, God.

¹¹ The Lord gives the ^[ho]command;
The ^(VS)women who proclaim good news are a great army:
¹² “^(VT)Kings of armies flee, they flee,
And she who remains at home will ^(VU)divide the spoils!”
^13 [hp]When you lie down ^(VV)among the sheepfolds,
You are like the wings of a dove covered with silver,
And its pinions with ^[hq]glistening gold.
¹⁴ When the Almighty ^(VW)scattered the kings ^[hr]there,
It was snowing in ^(VX)Zalmon.

^15 (VY)The mountain of Bashan is a ^[hs]mountain of God;
The mountain of Bashan is a mountain of many peaks.
¹⁶ Why do you look with envy, you mountains of many peaks,
At the mountain God has ^(VZ)desired as His dwelling?
Indeed, ^(WA)the Lord will dwell there forever.
¹⁷ The ^(WB)chariots of God are ^[ht]myriads, ^(WC)thousands upon thousands;
^[hu]The Lord is among them as at Sinai, in holiness.
¹⁸ You have ^(WD)ascended on high, You have ^(WE)led captive Your captives;
You have received gifts among people,
Even among the rebellious as well, that ^[hv]the Lord God may dwell there.

¹⁹ Blessed be the Lord, who daily ^(WF)bears our burden,
^(WG)The God who is our salvation. Selah
²⁰ God is to us a ^(WH)God of salvation;
And ^(WI)to ^[hw]God the Lord belong ways of escape ^[hx]from death.
²¹ God certainly will ^(WJ)shatter the heads of His enemies,
The hairy ^[hy]head of one who goes about in his guilt.
²² The Lord ^[hz]said, “^(WK)I will bring them back from Bashan.
I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,
²³ So that ^[ia](WL)your foot may shatter them in blood,
And the tongue of your ^(WM)dogs may have its portion from your enemies.”

²⁴ They have seen ^(WN)Your procession, God,
The procession of my God, my King, ^[ib](WO)into the sanctuary.
²⁵ The ^(WP)singers went on, the musicians after them,
^[ic]In the midst of the ^(WQ)young women beating tambourines.
^26 (WR)Bless God in the congregations,
Even the Lord, you who are of the ^(WS)fountain of Israel.
^27 (WT)Benjamin, the ^[id]youngest, is there, ^[ie]ruling them,
The leaders of Judah in their company,
The leaders of ^(WU)Zebulun, the leaders of Naphtali.

^28 [if]Your God has ^(WV)commanded your strength;
Show Yourself strong, God, You ^(WW)who acted ^[ig]in our behalf.
^29 [ih]Because of Your temple at Jerusalem
^(WX)Kings will bring gifts to You.
³⁰ Rebuke the ^(WY)animals ^[ii]in the reeds,
The herd of ^(WZ)bulls with the calves of the peoples,
Trampling the pieces of silver;
He has ^(XA)scattered the peoples who delight in war.
^31 [ij]Messengers will come from ^(XB)Egypt;
^[ik](XC)Cush will quickly stretch out her hands to God.

³² Sing to God, you ^(XD)kingdoms of the earth,
^(XE)Sing praises to the Lord, Selah
³³ To Him who ^(XF)rides upon the ^[il](XG)highest heavens, which are from ancient times;
Behold, ^(XH)He ^[im]speaks with His voice, a ^(XI)mighty voice.
^34 (XJ)Ascribe strength to God;
His majesty is over Israel,
And ^(XK)His strength is in the ^[in]skies.
^35 [io]God, You are ^(XL)awesome from Your ^[ip]sanctuary.
The God of Israel Himself ^(XM)gives strength and power to the people.
^(XN)Blessed be God!

⁵ God, You know ^(XW)my foolishness,
And ^(XX)my guilt is not hidden from You.
⁶ May those who wait for You not ^(XY)be ashamed because of me, Lord ^[iu]God of armies;
May those who seek You not be dishonored because of me, God of Israel,
⁷ Because ^(XZ)for Your sake I have endured disgrace;
^(YA)Dishonor has covered my face.
⁸ I have become ^(YB)estranged ^[iv]from my brothers,
And a stranger to my mother’s sons.
⁹ For ^(YC)zeal for Your house has consumed me,
And ^(YD)the taunts of those who taunt You have fallen on me.
¹⁰ When I wept ^(YE)in my soul with fasting,
It became my ^(YF)disgrace.
¹¹ When I made ^(YG)sackcloth my clothing,
I became ^(YH)a proverb to them.
¹² Those who ^(YI)sit in the gate talk about me,
And ^(YJ)songs of mockery by those habitually drunk are about me.

¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, Lord, ^(YK)at an acceptable time;
God, in the ^(YL)greatness of Your mercy,
Answer me with ^[iw]Your saving truth.
¹⁴ Rescue me from the ^(YM)mud and do not let me sink;
May I be ^(YN)rescued from those who hate me, and from the ^(YO)depths of water.
¹⁵ May the ^[ix](YP)flood of water not overflow me
Nor the deep swallow me up,
Nor the ^(YQ)pit close its mouth on me.

¹⁶ Answer me, Lord, for ^(YR)Your mercy is good;
^(YS)According to the greatness of Your compassion, ^(YT)turn to me,
¹⁷ And ^(YU)do not hide Your face from Your servant,
For I am ^(YV)in distress; answer me quickly.
¹⁸ Come near to my soul and ^(YW)redeem it;
^(YX)Ransom me because of my enemies!
¹⁹ You know my ^(YY)disgrace, my shame, and my dishonor;
All my enemies are ^[iy]known to You.

²⁰ Disgrace has ^(YZ)broken my heart, and I am so sick.
And ^(ZA)I waited for sympathy, but there was none;
And for ^(ZB)comforters, but I found none.
²¹ They also gave me ^[iz](ZC)a bitter herb in my food,
And for my thirst they ^(ZD)gave me vinegar to drink.
