45 My heart overflows with a pleasing theme;
    I address my verses to the king;
    my tongue is like the pen of ^(B)a ready scribe.

    the meditation of my heart shall be understanding.

³ My words declare the uprightness of my heart,
    and what my lips know they speak sincerely.

^23 (A)The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious
    and adds persuasiveness to his lips.

¹⁸ For I am full of words;
    the spirit within me constrains me.
¹⁹ Behold, my belly is like wine that has no vent;
    like new ^(A)wineskins ready to burst.
^20 (B)I must speak, that I may find ^(C)relief;
    I must open my lips and answer.

5 Let me sing for my beloved
    my love song concerning his vineyard:
My beloved had ^(A)a vineyard
    on a very fertile hill.

⁶ Hear, for I will speak ^(A)noble things,
    and from my lips will come ^(B)what is right,
⁷ for my ^(C)mouth will utter truth;
    wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
⁸ All the words of my mouth are righteous;
    there is nothing ^(D)twisted or crooked in them.
⁹ They are all ^(E)straight to him who understands,
    and right to those who find knowledge.
