43 Richte mich, Gott, und führe meine Sache wider das unheilige Volk und errette mich von den falschen und bösen Leuten.
2 Denn du bist der Gott meine Stärke; warum verstößest du mich? Warum lässest du mich so traurig gehen, wenn mich mein Feind drängt?
3 Sende dein Licht und deine Wahrheit, daß sie mich leiten und bringen zu deinem heiligen Berg und zu deiner Wohnung,
4 daß ich hineingehe zum Altar Gottes, zu dem Gott, der meine Freude und Wonne ist, und dir, Gott, auf der Harfe danke, mein Gott.
5 Was betrübst du dich, meine Seele, und bist so unruhig in mir? Harre auf Gott! denn ich werde ihm noch danken, daß er meines Angesichts Hilfe und mein Gott ist.

1 Schaffe mir Recht, o Gott, und führe meine Sache gegen ein unbarmherziges[a] Volk;
errette mich von dem Mann der Lüge und des Unrechts!
2 Denn du bist der Gott, der mich schützt;
warum verwirfst du mich?
Warum muss ich trauernd einhergehen,
weil mein Feind mich bedrängt?
3 Sende dein Licht und deine Wahrheit,
dass sie mich leiten,
mich bringen zu deinem heiligen Berg
und zu deinen Wohnungen,
4 dass ich komme zum Altar Gottes,
zu dem Gott, der meine Freude und Wonne ist,
und dich preise auf der Laute,
o Gott, mein Gott!
5 Was betrübst du dich, meine Seele,
und bist so unruhig in mir?
Harre auf Gott, denn ich werde ihm noch danken,
dass er meine Rettung und mein Gott ist!

1 Vindicate me, my God,

against an unfaithful nation.
Rescue me(B) from those who are
deceitful and wicked.(C)
2 You are God my stronghold.
Why have you rejected(D) me?
Why must I go about mourning,(E)
oppressed by the enemy?(F)
3 Send me your light(G) and your faithful care,(H)
let them lead me;(I)
let them bring me to your holy mountain,(J)
to the place where you dwell.(K)
4 Then I will go(L) to the altar(M) of God,
to God, my joy(N) and my delight.(O)
I will praise you with the lyre,(P)
O God, my God.
5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.(Q)

43 Vindicate (A)me, O God,
And (B)plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!
2 For You are the God of my strength;
Why do You cast me off?
(C)Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 (D)Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!
Let them lead me;
Let them bring me to (E)Your holy hill
And to Your [a]tabernacle.
4 Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You,
O God, my God.
5 (F)Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The [b]help of my countenance and my God.
