Victory in spite of Betrayal

For the choir director. A psalm of David.

41 Happy is one who is considerate of the poor;
the Lord will save him in a day of adversity.^(A)
²The Lord will keep him and preserve him;
he will be blessed in the land.^(B)
You will not give him over to the desire of his enemies.^(C)
³The Lord will sustain him on his sick-bed;
you will heal him on the bed where he lies.^(D)

⁴I said, ‘Lord, be gracious to me;
heal me, for I have sinned against you.’^(E)
⁵My enemies speak maliciously about me:
‘When will he die and be forgotten? ’^(F)
⁶When one of them comes to visit, he speaks deceitfully;
he stores up evil in his heart;
he goes out and talks.^(G)
⁷All who hate me whisper together about me;
they plan to harm me.^(H)
⁸‘Something awful has overwhelmed him,^[a]
and he won’t rise again from where he lies! ’^(I)
⁹Even my friend^[b] in whom I trusted,
one who ate my bread,
has raised his heel against me.^(J)

¹⁰But you, Lord, be gracious to me and raise me up;
then I will repay them.^(K)
¹¹By this I know that you delight in me:^(L)
my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.^(M)
¹²You supported me because of my integrity^(N)
and set me in your presence for ever.^(O)

¹³Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.

41 善待穷人的有福了！
耶和华必救他们脱离困境。
²耶和华必保护他们，
救他们的性命，
使他们在地上享福，
不让仇敌恶谋得逞。
³他们生病在床，
耶和华必看顾，
使他们康复。
⁴我祷告说：“耶和华啊，
求你怜悯我，医治我，
因为我得罪了你。”
⁵我的仇敌恶狠狠地说：
“他何时才会死，
并且被人遗忘呢？”
⁶他们来看我时，
心怀恶意，满口谎言，
出去后散布流言。
⁷所有恨我的人都交头接耳，
设计害我。
⁸他们说：“他患了恶病，
再也起不来了！”
⁹连我所信赖、吃我饭的挚友也用脚踢我。
¹⁰耶和华啊，
求你怜悯我，叫我痊愈，
我好报复他们。
¹¹我知道你喜悦我，
因为你没有让仇敌胜过我。
¹²你因我正直而扶持我，
让我永远侍立在你面前。
¹³从亘古到永远，
以色列的上帝耶和华当受称颂。
