Psalm 39:2-4
English Standard Version
2 I was (A)mute and silent;
I held my peace to no avail,
and my distress grew worse.
3 My (B)heart became hot within me.
As I mused, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “O Lord, (C)make me know my end
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting I am!
Psalm 39:2-4
New American Standard Bible
2 I was (A)mute [a]and silent,
I [b]refused to say even something good,
And my pain was stirred up.
3 My (B)heart was hot within me,
While I was musing the fire burned;
Then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “Lord, let me know (C)my end,
And what is the extent of my days;
Let me know how (D)transient I am.
