Psalm 37:2-8

New International Version

³ Trust in the Lord and do good;
    dwell in the land^(C) and enjoy safe pasture.^(D)
4 Take delight^(E) in the Lord,
    and he will give you the desires of your heart.^(F)

⁵ Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him^(G) and he will do this:
⁶ He will make your righteous reward^(H) shine like the dawn,^(I)
    your vindication like the noonday sun.

⁷ Be still^(J) before the Lord
    and wait patiently^(K) for him;
do not fret^(L) when people succeed in their ways,^(M)
    when they carry out their wicked schemes.^(N)

⁸ Refrain from anger^(O) and turn from wrath;
    do not fret^(P)—it leads only to evil.
