34 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God

A Psalm of David (A)when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.

34 I will (B)bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

I (C)sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
(D)The [a]angel of the Lord (E)encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.

Oh, (F)taste and see that the Lord is good;
(G)Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!
There is no [b]want to those who fear Him.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
(H)But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

11 Come, you children, listen to me;
(I)I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 (J)Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking (K)deceit.
14 (L)Depart from evil and do good;
(M)Seek peace and pursue it.

15 (N)The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 (O)The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
(P)To [c]cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and (Q)the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 (R)The Lord is near (S)to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as [d]have a contrite spirit.

19 (T)Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
(U)But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones;
(V)Not one of them is broken.
21 (W)Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be [e]condemned.
22 The Lord (X)redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Herrens godhet och hjälp

34 [a](A) Av David, när han spelade galen inför Abimelek[b], som drev bort honom så att han kom undan.

(B) Jag vill alltid prisa Herren,
    hans lov ska ständigt
        vara i min mun.
(C) Min själ ska vara stolt i Herren,
    de ödmjuka ska höra det
        och glädjas.
Lova Herren med mig,
    låt oss upphöja hans namn
        tillsammans!

(D) Jag sökte Herren
        och han svarade mig,
    han räddade mig
        från allt som skrämde mig.
De som ser upp till honom
        strålar av fröjd,
    deras ansikten[c] behöver inte
        rodna av skam.
Här är en plågad som ropade,
        och Herren hörde honom
    och frälste honom
        ur all hans nöd.

        saknar ingenting.
11 (H) Unga lejon lider nöd och hungrar,
    men de som söker Herren
        saknar inget gott.

17 (M) Men Herrens ansikte
        är emot dem som gör det onda,
    för att utplåna minnet av dem
        från jorden.

18 (N) De rättfärdiga ropar
        och Herren hör,
    han räddar dem ur all deras nöd.
19 (O) Herren är nära dem
        som har ett förkrossat hjärta
    och frälser dem
        som har en bedrövad ande.
20 (P) Mycket får den rättfärdige lida,
    men Herren räddar honom ur allt.
21 (Q) Han bevarar alla hans ben,
    inte ett enda av dem ska krossas.[d]

22 Ondskan blir den gudlöses död,
    och de som hatar den rättfärdige
        ska stå med skuld.
23 (R) Men Herren friköper
        sina tjänares själar,
    och ingen som flyr till honom
        ska stå med skuld.
