⁴ I ^(A)sought the Lord, and he answered me
    and delivered me from all my fears.

^6 (A)In my distress I called upon the Lord;
    to my God I cried for help.
From his ^(B)temple he heard my voice,
    and my cry to him reached his ears.

^5 (F)Gracious is the Lord, and ^(G)righteous;
    our God is ^(H)merciful.
⁶ The Lord preserves ^(I)the simple;
    when ^(J)I was brought low, he saved me.

^(A)“I called out to the Lord, out of my distress,
    and he answered me;
^(B)out of the belly of Sheol I cried,
    ^(C)and you heard my voice.

² “Behold, God is my salvation;
    I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for ^(A)the Lord God^[a] is my strength and my song,
    and he has become my salvation.”
