15 The eyes of the Lord(A) are on the righteous,(B)
    and his ears are attentive(C) to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against(D) those who do evil,(E)
    to blot out their name(F) from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears(G) them;
    he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close(H) to the brokenhearted(I)
    and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 The righteous person may have many troubles,(J)
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;(K)
20 he protects all his bones,
    not one of them will be broken.(L)

21 Evil will slay the wicked;(M)
    the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord will rescue(N) his servants;
    no one who takes refuge(O) in him will be condemned.

“Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’? Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me(A) while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’? Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? 10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”(B)
