33 Freuet euch des HERRN, ihr Gerechten; die Frommen sollen ihn preisen.
2 Danket dem HERRN mit Harfen und lobsinget ihm auf dem Psalter von zehn Saiten.
3 Singet ihm ein neues Lied; machet's gut auf Saitenspiel mit Schall.
4 Denn des HERRN Wort ist wahrhaftig; und was er zusagt, das hält er gewiß.
5 Er liebt die Gerechtigkeit und Gericht; die Erde ist voll der Güte des Herrn.
6 Der Himmel ist durch das Wort des HERRN gemacht und all sein Heer durch den Geist seines Mundes.
7 Er hält das Wasser im Meer zusammen wie in einem Schlauch und legt die Tiefen in das Verborgene.
8 Alle Welt fürchte den Herrn; und vor ihm scheue sich alles, was auf dem Erdboden wohnt.
9 Denn so er spricht, so geschieht's; so er gebeut, so stehet's da.
10 Der HERR macht zunichte der Heiden Rat und wendet die Gedanken der Völker.
11 Aber der Rat des HERRN bleibt ewiglich, seines Herzens Gedanken für und für.
12 Wohl dem Volk, des Gott der HERR ist, dem Volk, das er zum Erbe erwählt hat!
13 Der HERR schaut vom Himmel und sieht aller Menschen Kinder.
14 Von seinem festen Thron sieht er auf alle, die auf Erden wohnen.
15 Er lenkt ihnen allen das Herz; er merkt auf alle ihre Werke.
16 Einem Könige hilft nicht seine große Macht; ein Riese wird nicht errettet durch seine große Kraft.
17 Rosse helfen auch nicht, und ihre große Stärke errettet nicht.
18 Siehe, des HERRN Auge sieht auf die, so ihn fürchten, die auf seine Güte hoffen,
19 daß er ihre Seele errette vom Tode und ernähre sie in der Teuerung.
20 Unsre Seele harrt auf den HERRN; er ist unsre Hilfe und Schild.
21 Denn unser Herz freut sich sein, und wir trauen auf seinen heiligen Namen.
22 Deine Güte, HERR, sei über uns, wie wir auf dich hoffen.

Hoffnung für Alle
Der Herr regiert!
33 Jubelt über den Herrn, alle, die ihr zu ihm gehört!
Lobt ihn, ihr Aufrichtigen, denn das ist eure schönste Aufgabe!
2 Preist den Herrn auf der Laute
und spielt für ihn auf der zehnsaitigen Harfe!
3 Singt ihm ein neues Lied und jubelt ihm zu!
Schlagt in die Saiten, so gut ihr könnt!
4 Denn was der Herr sagt, das meint er auch so,
und auf das, was er tut, kann man sich verlassen.
5 Er liebt Recht und Gerechtigkeit,
die ganze Erde ist erfüllt von seiner Güte.
6 Nur ein Wort sprach er, und der Himmel wurde geschaffen,
Sonne, Mond und Sterne entstanden, als er es befahl.
7 Er sammelte das Wasser des Meeres an einem Ort
und speicherte die Ozeane in riesigen Becken.
8 Die ganze Welt soll den Herrn fürchten,
ja, alle Bewohner der Erde sollen ihn achten und ehren!
9 Denn er sprach, und es geschah,
er befahl, und schon war es da.
10 Er durchkreuzt die Pläne der Völker,
er macht ihre eigenmächtigen Vorhaben zunichte.
11 Doch was er sich vorgenommen hat, das tut er;
seine Pläne sind gültig für alle Zeit.
12 Glücklich ist die Nation, deren Gott der Herr ist!
Freuen kann sich das Volk, das er als sein Eigentum erwählte!
13 Der Herr schaut vom Himmel herab
und sieht jeden Menschen.
14 Von seinem Thron blickt er nieder
auf alle Bewohner der Erde.
15 Er hat auch das Innerste eines jeden Menschen geformt;
über alles, was sie tun, weiß er genau Bescheid.
16 Kein König siegt durch die Größe seines Heeres;
kein Soldat kehrt heil aus der Schlacht zurück, nur weil er so stark ist.
17 Wer meint, Reiterheere bringen den Sieg, der hat sich getäuscht.
Sie können noch so viel Schlagkraft besitzen
und dennoch vernichtet werden.
18 Der Herr aber beschützt alle, die ihm mit Ehrfurcht begegnen
und die auf seine Gnade vertrauen.
19 Er bewahrt sie vor dem sicheren Tod,
und in der Hungersnot erhält er sie am Leben.
20 Wir setzen unsere Hoffnung auf den Herrn,
er steht uns bei, ja, er ist der Schild, der uns schützt.
21 Er erfüllt unsere Herzen mit Freude;
wir vertrauen ihm, dem heiligen Gott.
22 Herr, lass uns deine Liebe erfahren,
wir hoffen doch auf dich!

1 Sing joyfully(A) to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting(B) for the upright(C) to praise him.
2 Praise the Lord with the harp;(D)
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.(E)
3 Sing to him a new song;(F)
play skillfully, and shout for joy.(G)
4 For the word of the Lord is right(H) and true;(I)
he is faithful(J) in all he does.
5 The Lord loves righteousness and justice;(K)
the earth is full of his unfailing love.(L)
6 By the word(M) of the Lord the heavens were made,(N)
their starry host(O) by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathers the waters(P) of the sea into jars[a];(Q)
he puts the deep into storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;(R)
let all the people of the world(S) revere him.(T)
9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded,(U) and it stood firm.
10 The Lord foils(V) the plans(W) of the nations;(X)
he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
11 But the plans of the Lord stand firm(Y) forever,
the purposes(Z) of his heart through all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,(AA)
the people he chose(AB) for his inheritance.(AC)
13 From heaven the Lord looks down(AD)
and sees all mankind;(AE)
14 from his dwelling place(AF) he watches
all who live on earth—
15 he who forms(AG) the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.(AH)
16 No king is saved by the size of his army;(AI)
no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17 A horse(AJ) is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 But the eyes(AK) of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,(AL)
19 to deliver them from death(AM)
and keep them alive in famine.(AN)

33 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
2 Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
4 For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.
5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
10 The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
11 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
