Psalm 32
King James Version
32 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.
11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Psalm 32
1 Von David. Ein Maskil[a].
sodass mein Saft vertrocknete,
wie es im Sommer dürr wird. (Sela.)
5 Da bekannte ich dir meine Sünde
und verbarg meine Schuld nicht;
ich sprach: »Ich will dem Herrn meine Übertretungen bekennen!«
Da vergabst du mir meine Sündenschuld. (Sela.)
6 Darum soll jeder Getreue dich bitten
zu der Zeit, da du zu finden bist;
wenn dann große Wasser einherfluten,
werden sie ihn gewiss nicht erreichen.
7 Du bist mein Schutz, du behütest mich vor Bedrängnis,
du umgibst mich mit Rettungsjubel! (Sela.)
8 — »Ich will dich unterweisen und dir den Weg zeigen, auf dem du wandeln sollst;
ich will dir raten, mein Auge auf dich richten.
9 Seid nicht wie das Ross und das Maultier, die keinen Verstand haben;
mit Zaum und Gebiss, ihrem Geschirr, muss man sie bändigen,
weil sie sonst nicht zu dir nahen!« —
10 Der Gottlose hat viele Plagen;
wer aber dem Herrn vertraut,
den wird er mit Gnade umgeben.
11 Freut euch an dem Herrn und seid fröhlich, ihr Gerechten[b],
und jubelt alle, die ihr aufrichtigen Herzens seid!

Psalm 32
Of David. A maskil.[a]
1 Blessed is the one
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.(A)
2 Blessed is the one
    whose sin the Lord does not count against them(B)
    and in whose spirit is no deceit.(C)
3 When I kept silent,(D)
    my bones wasted away(E)
    through my groaning(F) all day long.
4 For day and night
    your hand was heavy(G) on me;
my strength was sapped(H)
    as in the heat of summer.[b]
5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you
    and did not cover up my iniquity.(I)
I said, “I will confess(J)
    my transgressions(K) to the Lord.”
And you forgave
    the guilt of my sin.(L)
6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
    while you may be found;(M)
surely the rising(N) of the mighty waters(O)
    will not reach them.(P)
7 You are my hiding place;(Q)
    you will protect me from trouble(R)
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.(S)
8 I will instruct(T) you and teach you(U) in the way you should go;
    I will counsel you with my loving eye on(V) you.
9 Do not be like the horse or the mule,
    which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle(W)
    or they will not come to you.
10 Many are the woes of the wicked,(X)
    but the Lord’s unfailing love
    surrounds the one who trusts(Y) in him.
11 Rejoice in the Lord(Z) and be glad, you righteous;
    sing, all you who are upright in heart!
