^3 (C)For You are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, ^(D)for Your name’s sake,
Lead me and guide me.
⁴ Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
^5 (E)Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O Lord God of ^(F)truth.

⁶ I have hated those ^(G)who regard useless idols;
But I trust in the Lord.
⁷ I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy,
For You have considered my trouble;
You have ^(H)known my soul in ^[d]adversities,
⁸ And have not ^(I)shut^[e] me up into the hand of the enemy;
^(J)You have set my feet in a wide place.

⁹ Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am in trouble;
^(K)My eye wastes away with grief,
Yes, my soul and my ^[f]body!
¹⁰ For my life is spent with grief,
And my years with sighing;
My strength fails because of my iniquity,
And my bones waste away.
^11 (L)I am a ^[g]reproach among all my enemies,
But ^(M)especially among my neighbors,
And am repulsive to my acquaintances;
^(N)Those who see me outside flee from me.
^12 (O)I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind;
I am like a ^[h]broken vessel.
^13 (P)For I hear the slander of many;
^(Q)Fear is on every side;
While they ^(R)take counsel together against me,
They scheme to take away my life.

¹⁴ But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
¹⁵ My times are in Your ^(S)hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.
^16 (T)Make Your face shine upon Your servant;
Save me for Your mercies’ sake.
^17 (U)Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You;
Let the wicked be ashamed;
^(V)Let them be silent in the grave.
^18 (W)Let the lying lips be put to silence,
Which ^(X)speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

^19 (Y)Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men!
^20 (Z)You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence
From the plots of man;
^(AA)You shall keep them secretly in a ^[i]pavilion
From the strife of tongues.

²¹ Blessed be the Lord,
For ^(AB)He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a ^[j]strong city!
²² For I said in my haste,
“I am cut off from before Your eyes”;
Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications
When I cried out to You.

²³ Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints!
For the Lord preserves the faithful,
And fully repays the proud person.
^24 (AC)Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord.

³ For You have been a shelter for me,
^(A)A strong tower from the enemy.
⁴ I will abide in Your ^[b]tabernacle forever;
^(B)I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

⁵ For You, O God, have heard my vows;
You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.
⁶ You will prolong the king’s life,
His years as many generations.
⁷ He shall abide before God forever.
Oh, prepare mercy ^(C)and truth, which may ^[c]preserve him!

⁸ So I will sing praise to Your name forever,
That I may daily perform my vows.

³ Surely ^(D)He shall deliver you from the snare of the ^[a]fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
^4 (E)He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and ^[b]buckler.
^5 (F)You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

⁷ A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
⁸ Only ^(G)with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

⁹ Because you have made the Lord, who is ^(H)my refuge,
Even the Most High, ^(I)your dwelling place,
^10 (J)No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
^11 (K)For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
¹² In their hands they shall ^[c]bear you up,
^(L)Lest you ^[d]dash your foot against a stone.
¹³ You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

¹⁴ “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will ^[e]set him on high, because he has ^(M)known My name.
¹⁵ He shall ^(N)call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be ^(O)with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
¹⁶ With ^[f]long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

^3 (C)He will not allow your foot to ^[a]be moved;
^(D)He who keeps you will not slumber.
⁴ Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

⁵ The Lord is your ^[b]keeper;
The Lord is ^(E)your shade ^(F)at your right hand.
^6 (G)The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

⁷ The Lord shall ^[c]preserve you from all evil;
He shall ^(H)preserve your soul.
⁸ The Lord shall ^(I)preserve^[d] your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

² What, my son?
And what, son of my womb?
And what, ^(A)son of my vows?
^3 (B)Do not give your strength to women,
Nor your ways ^(C)to that which destroys kings.

^4 (D)It is not for kings, O Lemuel,
It is not for kings to drink wine,
Nor for princes intoxicating drink;
^5 (E)Lest they drink and forget the law,
And pervert the justice of all ^[a]the afflicted.
^6 (F)Give strong drink to him who is perishing,
And wine to those who are bitter of heart.
⁷ Let him drink and forget his poverty,
And remember his misery no more.

^8 (G)Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are ^[b]appointed to die.
⁹ Open your mouth, ^(H)judge righteously,
And ^(I)plead the cause of the poor and needy.
