Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Psalm 3[a]

A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.(A)

Lord, how many are my foes!
    How many rise up against me!
Many are saying of me,
    “God will not deliver him.(B)[b]

But you, Lord, are a shield(C) around me,
    my glory, the One who lifts my head high.(D)
I call out to the Lord,(E)
    and he answers me from his holy mountain.(F)

I lie down and sleep;(G)
    I wake again,(H) because the Lord sustains me.
I will not fear(I) though tens of thousands
    assail me on every side.(J)

Arise,(K) Lord!
    Deliver me,(L) my God!
Strike(M) all my enemies on the jaw;
    break the teeth(N) of the wicked.

From the Lord comes deliverance.(O)
    May your blessing(P) be on your people.

LORD, how my adversaries are increased? How many rise against me?

Many say to my soul, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah.

But You, LORD, are a buckler for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

I called to the LORD with my voice, and He heard me out of His Holy Mountain. Selah.

I laid down and slept; and rose up again. For the LORD sustained me.

I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who should beset me all around.

O LORD, arise! Help me, my God! For You have struck all my enemies upon the cheekbone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

(3:3) Combien qui disent à mon sujet: Plus de salut pour lui auprès de Dieu! -Pause.

(3:4) Mais toi, ô Éternel! tu es mon bouclier, Tu es ma gloire, et tu relèves ma tête.

(3:5) De ma voix je crie à l'Éternel, Et il me répond de sa montagne sainte. -Pause.

(3:6) Je me couche, et je m'endors; Je me réveille, car l'Éternel est mon soutien.

(3:7) Je ne crains pas les myriades de peuples Qui m'assiègent de toutes parts.

(3:8) Lève-toi, Éternel! sauve-moi, mon Dieu! Car tu frappes à la joue tous mes ennemis, Tu brises les dents des méchants.

(3:9) Le salut est auprès de l'Éternel: Que ta bénédiction soit sur ton peuple! -Pause.
