The Prayer of an Innocent Believer
Of David.
26 Lord, ·defend [vindicate] me because I have ·lived an innocent life [L walked in innocence; Job 1:1].
I have ·trusted [confidence in] the Lord and never ·doubted [wavered; faltered].
2 Lord, try me and test me;
look closely into my ·heart and mind [L kidneys and heart; C the seat of emotions and mind in Hebrew thought].
3 ·I see your love [L Your loyalty/covenant love is before my eyes],
and I ·live by your truth [walk in your truth/faithfulness].
4 I do not ·spend time [L sit] with ·liars [or worthless people],
nor do I ·make friends [L go] with ·those who hide their sin [hypocrites].
5 I hate the ·company [assembly] of evil people,
and I won’t sit with the wicked.
6 I wash my hands ·to show I am innocent [L in innocence],
and I ·come to [L go around] your altar, Lord.
7 I raise my voice in ·praise [or thanks]
and tell of all the ·miracles [wonderful things] you have done.
8 Lord, I love the ·Temple [L house] where you live,
where your glory [C manifest presence] ·is [dwells].
9 Do not ·kill me [take me away] with those sinners
or take my life with ·those murderers [the bloodthirsty; L men of blood].
10 ·Evil is [Schemes are] in their hands,
and ·they do wrong for money [L their right hand is full of bribes].
11 But I have ·lived an innocent life [L walked in innocence; v. 1],
so ·save [redeem; ransom] me and have mercy on me.
12 ·I stand in a safe place [L My feet stand on level ground].
Lord, I ·praise [bless] you in the great ·meeting [assembly].

Un psalm al lui David
1 Fă-mi(A) dreptate, Doamne, căci(B) umblu în nevinovăţie
şi mă(C) încred în Domnul fără şovăire.
2 Cercetează-mă(D), Doamne, încearcă-mă,
trece-mi prin cuptorul de foc rărunchii şi inima!
3 Căci bunătatea Ta este înaintea ochilor mei
şi umblu(E) în adevărul Tău.
4 Nu şed împreună cu(F) oamenii mincinoşi
şi nu merg împreună cu oamenii vicleni.
5 Urăsc(G) adunarea celor ce fac răul
şi(H) nu stau împreună cu cei răi.
6 Îmi spăl mâinile în(I) nevinovăţie
şi aşa înconjur altarul Tău, Doamne,
7 ca să izbucnesc în mulţumiri
şi să istorisesc toate minunile Tale.
8 Doamne, eu iubesc(J) locaşul Casei Tale
şi locul în care locuieşte slava Ta.
9 Nu-mi(K) lua sufletul împreună cu păcătoşii,
nici viaţa cu oamenii care varsă sânge,
10 ale căror mâini sunt nelegiuite
şi a căror dreaptă este plină de mită(L)!
11 Eu umblu(M) în neprihănire;
izbăveşte-mă şi ai milă de mine!
12 Piciorul(N) meu stă pe calea cea dreaptă(O):
voi binecuvânta pe Domnul în(P) adunări.

Rends-moi justice, Eternel! car je marche dans l’intégrité,
Je me confie en l’Eternel, je ne chancelle pas.
2 Sonde-moi, Eternel! éprouve-moi,
Fais passer au creuset mes reins et mon cœur;
3 Car ta grâce est devant mes yeux,
Et je marche dans ta vérité.
4 Je ne m’assieds pas avec les hommes faux,
Je ne vais pas avec les gens dissimulés;
5 Je hais l’assemblée de ceux qui font le mal,
Je ne m’assieds pas avec les méchants.
6 Je lave mes mains dans l’innocence,
Et je vais autour de ton autel, ô Eternel!
7 Pour éclater en actions de grâces,
Et raconter toutes tes merveilles.
8 Eternel! j’aime le séjour de ta maison,
Le lieu où ta gloire habite.
9 N’enlève pas mon âme avec les pécheurs,
Ma vie avec les hommes de sang,
10 Dont les mains sont criminelles
Et la droite pleine de présents!
11 Moi, je marche dans l’intégrité;
Délivre-moi et aie pitié de moi!
12 Mon pied est ferme dans la droiture:
Je bénirai l’Eternel dans les assemblées.

4 I do not sit(J) with the deceitful,
nor do I associate with hypocrites.(K)
5 I abhor(L) the assembly of evildoers
and refuse to sit with the wicked.
6 I wash my hands in innocence,(M)
and go about your altar, Lord,
7 proclaiming aloud your praise(N)
and telling of all your wonderful deeds.(O)
8 Lord, I love(P) the house where you live,
the place where your glory dwells.(Q)
9 Do not take away my soul along with sinners,
my life with those who are bloodthirsty,(R)
10 in whose hands are wicked schemes,(S)
whose right hands are full of bribes.(T)
11 I lead a blameless life;
deliver me(U) and be merciful to me.
