⁴ I do not sit with the worthless,
    nor do I consort with hypocrites;^(D)
5 I hate the company of evildoers
    and will not sit with the wicked.^(E)

⁶ I wash my hands in innocence
    and go around your altar, O Lord,^(F)
7 singing aloud a song of thanksgiving
    and telling all your wondrous deeds.^(G)

⁸ O Lord, I love the house in which you dwell
    and the place where your glory abides.^(H)
9 Do not sweep me away with sinners
    nor my life with the bloodthirsty,^(I)
10 those in whose hands are evil devices
    and whose right hands are full of bribes.^(J)

¹¹ But as for me, I walk in my integrity;
    redeem me and be gracious to me.^(K)
12 My foot stands on level ground;
    in the great congregation I will bless the Lord.^(L)

⁴ Happy are those who make
    the Lord their trust,
who do not turn to the proud,
    to those who go astray after false gods.^(D)
5 You have multiplied, O Lord my God,
    your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us;
    none can compare with you.
Were I to proclaim and tell of them,
    they would be more than can be counted.^(E)

⁶ Sacrifice and offering you do not desire,
    but you have given me an open ear.^[b]
Burnt offering and sin offering
    you have not required.^(F)
7 Then I said, “Here I am;
    in the scroll of the book it is written of me.^[c]
8 I delight to do your will, O my God;
    your law is within my heart.”^(G)

⁹ I have told the glad news of deliverance
    in the great congregation;
see, I have not restrained my lips,
    as you know, O Lord.^(H)
10 I have not hidden your saving help within my heart;
    I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation;
I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness
    from the great congregation.^(I)

¹¹ Do not, O Lord, withhold
    your mercy from me;
let your steadfast love and your faithfulness
    keep me safe forever.^(J)
12 For evils have encompassed me
    without number;
my iniquities have overtaken me
    until I cannot see;
they are more than the hairs of my head,
    and my heart fails me.^(K)

¹³ Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me;
    O Lord, make haste to help me.^(L)
14 Let all those be put to shame and confusion
    who seek to snatch away my life;
let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
    who desire my hurt.^(M)
15 Let those be appalled because of their shame
    who say to me, “Aha, Aha!”^(N)

¹⁶ But may all who seek you
    rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation
    say continually, “Great is the Lord!”^(O)
17 As for me, I am poor and needy,
    but the Lord takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
    do not delay, O my God.^(P)

³ The wicked go astray from the womb;
    they err from their birth, speaking lies.^(C)
4 They have venom like the venom of a serpent,
    like the deaf adder that stops its ear,^(D)
5 so that it does not hear the voice of charmers
    or of the cunning enchanter.^(E)

⁶ O God, break the teeth in their mouths;
    tear out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!^(F)
7 Let them vanish like water that runs away;
    like grass let them be trodden down^[a] and wither.^(G)
8 Let them be like the snail that dissolves into slime,
    like the untimely birth that never sees the sun.^(H)
9 Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns,
    whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away!^(I)

¹⁰ The righteous will rejoice when they see vengeance done;
    they will bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.^(J)
11 People will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
    surely there is a God who judges^[b] on earth.”^(K)

Lead me to the rock
    that is higher than I,^(B)
3 for you are my refuge,
    a strong tower against the enemy.^(C)

⁴ Let me abide in your tent forever,
    find refuge under the shelter of your wings. Selah^(D)
5 For you, O God, have heard my vows;
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.^(E)

⁶ Prolong the life of the king;
    may his years endure to all generations!^(F)
7 May he be enthroned forever before God;
    appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!^(G)

⁸ So I will always sing praises to your name,
    as I pay my vows day after day.^(H)

³ How long will you assail a person,
    will you batter your victim, all of you,
    as you would a leaning wall, a tottering fence?^(K)
4 Their only plan is to bring down a person of prominence.
    They take pleasure in falsehood;
they bless with their mouths,
    but inwardly they curse. Selah^(L)

⁵ For God alone my soul waits in silence,
    for my hope is from him.
⁶ He alone is my rock and my salvation,
    my fortress; I shall not be shaken.^(M)
7 On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
    my mighty rock, my refuge is in God.^(N)

⁸ Trust in him at all times, O people;
    pour out your heart before him;
    God is a refuge for us. Selah^(O)

⁹ Those of low estate are but a breath;
    those of high estate are a delusion;
in the balances they go up;
    they are together lighter than a breath.^(P)
10 Put no confidence in extortion,
    and set no vain hopes on robbery;
    if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.^(Q)

¹¹ Once God has spoken;
    twice have I heard this:
that power belongs to God,^(R)
12     and steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord.
For you repay to all
    according to their work.^(S)

⁷ But God will shoot his arrow at them;
    they will be wounded suddenly.
⁸ Because of their tongue he will bring them to ruin;^[c]
    all who see them will shake with horror.^(G)
9 Then everyone will fear;
    they will tell what God has brought about
    and ponder what he has done.^(H)

¹⁰ Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord
    and take refuge in him.
Let all the upright in heart glory.^(I)
