Psalm 25:1-10

Teach Me Your Paths

^[a] Of David.

25 To you, O Lord, I ^(A)lift up my soul.
²O my God, in you I ^(B)trust;
    ^(C)let me not be put to shame;
    ^(D)let not my enemies exult over me.
³Indeed, ^(E)none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
    they shall be ashamed who are ^(F)wantonly ^(G)treacherous.

⁴^(H)Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
⁵Lead me in your ^(I)truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.

⁶Remember your ^(J)mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    ^(K)for they have been from of old.
⁷Remember not ^(L)the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your ^(M)steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!

⁸^(N)Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he ^(O)instructs sinners in the way.
⁹He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
¹⁰All the paths of the Lord are ^(P)steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

The Supremacy of God's Son

1 Long ago, at many times and ^(A)in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, ²but ^(B)in these last days ^(C)he has spoken to us by ^(D)his Son, whom he appointed ^(E)the heir of all things, ^(F)through whom also he created ^(G)the world. ³He is the radiance of the glory of God and ^(H)the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. ^(I)After making purification for sins, ^(J)he sat down ^(K)at the right hand of the Majesty on high, ⁴having become as much superior to angels as the name ^(L)he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

Hebrews 2:5-12

The Founder of Salvation

⁵For it was not to angels that God subjected the world ^(A)to come, of which we are speaking. ⁶It has been testified somewhere,

^(B)“What is man, that you are mindful of him,
    or the son of man, that you care for him?
⁷You made him for a little while lower than the angels;
    you have crowned him with glory and honor,^[a]
⁸    putting everything in subjection under his feet.”

Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, ^(C)we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. ⁹But we see him ^(D)who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, ^(E)crowned with glory and honor ^(F)because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might ^(G)taste death ^(H)for everyone.

¹⁰For it ^(I)was fitting that he, ^(J)for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons ^(K)to glory, should make the ^(L)founder of their salvation ^(M)perfect through suffering. ¹¹For ^(N)he who sanctifies and ^(O)those who are sanctified ^(P)all have one source.^[b] That is why he is not ashamed to call them ^(Q)brothers,^[c] ¹²saying,

^(R)“I will tell of your name to my brothers;
in the midst of the ^(S)congregation I will sing your praise.”
