The King of Glory

A Psalm of David.

24 (A)The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,[a]
    the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has (B)founded it upon (C)the seas
    and established it upon the rivers.

(D)Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
    And who shall stand in his (E)holy place?
(F)He who has (G)clean hands and (H)a pure heart,
    who does not (I)lift up his soul to (J)what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive (K)blessing from the Lord
    and (L)righteousness from (M)the God of his salvation.
Such is (N)the generation of those who seek him,
    who (O)seek the face of the God of Jacob.[b] Selah

(P)Lift up your heads, O gates!
    And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
    that (Q)the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty,
    the Lord, (R)mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
    And lift them up, O ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
    (S)The Lord of hosts,
    he is the King of glory! Selah

The Coming King of Zion

(A)Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
    Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!
(B)Behold, (C)your king is coming to you;
    righteous and having salvation is he,
(D)humble and mounted on a donkey,
    on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
10 (E)I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim
    and (F)the war horse from Jerusalem;
and the battle bow shall be cut off,
    and (G)he shall speak peace to the nations;
(H)his rule shall be from sea to sea,
    and from (I)the River[a] to the ends of the earth.
11 As for you also, because of (J)the blood of my covenant with you,
    (K)I will set your prisoners free from (L)the waterless pit.
12 Return to your stronghold, O (M)prisoners of hope;
    today I declare that (N)I will restore to you double.

Him Whom They Have Pierced

10 “And (C)I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and (D)pleas for mercy, so that, (E)when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, (F)they shall mourn for him, (G)as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. 11 (H)On that day (I)the mourning in Jerusalem will be as great (J)as the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. 12 The land shall mourn, (K)each family[a] by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of (L)Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves; 13 the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of (M)the Shimeites by itself, and their wives by themselves;

12 (A)Fight the good fight of the faith. (B)Take hold of the eternal life (C)to which you were called and about which you made (D)the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 (E)I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, (F)who in his testimony before[a] Pontius Pilate made (G)the good confession, 14 to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until (H)the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which he will display (I)at the proper time—he who is (J)the blessed and only Sovereign, (K)the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 (L)who alone has immortality, (M)who dwells in (N)unapproachable light, (O)whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

12 (A)And Jesus entered the temple[a] and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of (B)the money-changers and the seats of those who sold (C)pigeons. 13 He said to them, “It is written, (D)‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but (E)you make it a den of robbers.”

14 (F)And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. 15 (G)But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, (H)“Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant, 16 and they said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; (I)have you never read,

17 And (L)leaving them, he (M)went out of the city to (N)Bethany and lodged there.
