Psalm 23
English Standard Version
The Lord Is My Shepherd
A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my (A)shepherd; I shall not (B)want.
2 He makes me lie down in green (C)pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.[a]
3 He (D)restores my soul.
He (E)leads me in (F)paths of righteousness[b]
for his (G)name's sake.
4 Even though I (H)walk through the valley of (I)the shadow of death,[c]
I will (J)fear no evil,
for (K)you are with me;
your (L)rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You (M)prepare a table before me
in (N)the presence of my enemies;
you (O)anoint my head with oil;
my (P)cup overflows.
6 Surely[d] goodness and mercy[e] shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall (Q)dwell[f] in the house of the Lord
(R)forever.[g]

English Standard Version
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 And (A)they devoted themselves to the apostles' (B)teaching and the (C)fellowship, to (D)the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe[a] came upon every soul, and (E)many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and (F)had all things in common. 45 And (G)they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, (H)attending the temple (I)together and (J)breaking bread in their homes, they received their food (K)with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and (L)having favor with all the people. And the Lord (M)added to their number (N)day by day those who (O)were being saved.

1 Peter 2:18-25
English Standard Version
18 (A)Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. 19 For this is a gracious thing, when, (B)mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. 20 For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But (C)if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. 21 For (D)to this you have been called, (E)because Christ also suffered for you, (F)leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 22 (G)He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. 23 (H)When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, (I)but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. 24 (J)He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we (K)might die to sin and (L)live to righteousness. (M)By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For (N)you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to (O)the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
