    I will ^(G)fear no evil,
for ^(H)you are with me;
    your ^(I)rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

    And who shall stand in his ^(E)holy place?

    who does not ^(I)lift up his soul to ^(J)what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
⁵ He will receive ^(K)blessing from the Lord
    and ^(L)righteousness from ^(M)the God of his salvation.

    And be lifted up, O ancient doors,

    have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of ^(C)deep darkness,
    on them has light shone.
^3 (D)You have multiplied the nation;
    you have increased its joy;
they rejoice before you
    as with ^(E)joy at the harvest,
    as they ^(F)are glad ^(G)when they divide the spoil.
^4 (H)For the yoke of his burden,
    ^(I)and the staff for his shoulder,
    the rod of his oppressor,
    you have broken as ^(J)on the day of Midian.
^5 (K)For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult
    and every garment rolled in blood
    will be burned as fuel for the fire.
^6 (L)For to us a child is born,
    to us ^(M)a son is given;
^(N)and the government shall be ^(O)upon^[b] his shoulder,
    and his name shall be called^[c]
Wonderful ^(P)Counselor, ^(Q)Mighty God,
    ^(R)Everlasting ^(S)Father, Prince of ^(T)Peace.
⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace
    ^(U)there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
    to establish it and to uphold it
^(V)with justice and with righteousness
    from this time forth and forevermore.
^(W)The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

^(B)“Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
    but a body have you prepared for me;
⁶ in burnt offerings and sin offerings
    you have taken no pleasure.
⁷ Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,
    as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”

²⁴ The Lord ^(A)bless you and ^(B)keep you;
²⁵ the Lord ^(C)make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
²⁶ the Lord ^(D)lift up his countenance^[a] upon you and give you peace.
