¹⁴ Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He ^(D)Himself likewise shared in the same, ^(E)that through death He might destroy him who had the power of ^(F)death, that is, the devil, ¹⁵ and release those who ^(G)through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. ¹⁶ For indeed He does not ^[a]give aid to angels, but He does ^[b]give aid to the seed of Abraham. ¹⁷ Therefore, in all things He had ^(H)to be made like His brethren, that He might be ^(I)a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. ^18 (J)For in that He Himself has suffered, being ^[c]tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

To Him ^(E)who ^[a]loved us ^(F)and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

1 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, ^(A)called to be an apostle, ^(B)separated to the gospel of God ^2 (C)which He promised before ^(D)through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, ³ concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who ^[a]was ^(E)born of the seed of David according to the flesh, ⁴ and ^(F)declared to be the Son of God with power according ^(G)to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those ^(A)who are the called according to His purpose. ²⁹ For whom ^(B)He foreknew, ^(C)He also predestined ^(D)to be conformed to the image of His Son, ^(E)that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

^20 (A)He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was ^[a]manifest ^(B)in these last times for you ²¹ who through Him believe in God, ^(C)who raised Him from the dead and ^(D)gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
