Psalm 21
The Message
21 1-7 Your strength, God, is the king’s strength.
Helped, he’s hollering Hosannas.
You gave him exactly what he wanted;
you didn’t hold back.
You filled his arms with gifts;
you gave him a right royal welcome.
He wanted a good life; you gave it to him,
and then made it a long life as a bonus.
You lifted him high and bright as a cumulus cloud,
then dressed him in rainbow colors.
You pile blessings on him;
you make him glad when you smile.
Is it any wonder the king loves God?
that he’s sticking with the Best?
8-12 With a fistful of enemies in one hand
and a fistful of haters in the other,
You radiate with such brilliance
that they cringe as before a furnace.
Now the furnace swallows them whole,
the fire eats them alive!
You purge the earth of their progeny,
you wipe the slate clean.
All their evil schemes, the plots they cook up,
have fizzled—every one.
You sent them packing;
they couldn’t face you.
13 Show your strength, God, so no one can miss it.
We are out singing the good news!

Pagpupuri sa Pagtatagumpay
21 Panginoon, sobrang galak ng hari
dahil binigyan nʼyo siya ng kalakasan.
Siyaʼy tuwang-tuwa dahil binigyan nʼyo siya ng tagumpay.
2 Ibinigay nʼyo sa kanya ang kanyang hinahangad;
hindi nʼyo ipinagkait ang kanyang kahilingan.
3 Tinanggap nʼyo siya, at pinagkalooban ng masaganang pagpapala.
Pinutungan nʼyo ang ulo niya ng koronang yari sa purong ginto.
4 Hiniling niya sa inyo na dagdagan ang buhay niya,
at binigyan nʼyo siya ng mahabang buhay.
5 Dahil sa pagbibigay nʼyo ng tagumpay sa kanya,
naging tanyag siya at makapangyarihan.
6-7 Dahil nagtitiwala siya sa inyo, Panginoon,
pinagpala nʼyo siya ng mga pagpapalang walang katapusan,
at pinasaya nʼyo siya sa inyong piling.
At dahil minamahal nʼyo siya nang tapat, Kataas-taasang Dios,
hindi siya mabubuwal.
8 Sa pamamagitan ng inyong kapangyarihan,
matatalo nʼyo ang lahat nʼyong mga kaaway.
9 At kapag kayo ay dumating Panginoon, lilipulin nʼyo sila.
Dahil sa galit nʼyo, tutupukin sila na parang dayami sa naglalagablab na apoy.
10 Uubusin nʼyo ang lahat ng mga anak nila sa buong kalupaan,
upang wala nang magpatuloy ng kanilang lahing masama.
11 Nagbabalak sila ng masama laban sa inyo,
ngunit hindi sila magtatagumpay.
12 Tatakas sila kapag nakita nilang nakatutok na sa kanila ang inyong pana.
13 Panginoon, pinupuri namin kayo
dahil sa inyong kalakasan.
Aawit kami ng mga papuri
dahil sa inyong kapangyarihan.

King James Version
21 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
2 Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
7 For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
13 Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
