Prayer for Victory over Enemies.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

20 May the Lord answer you (A)on a day of trouble!
May the (B)name of the (C)God of Jacob [a]protect you!
May He send you help (D)from the sanctuary,
And (E)support you from Zion!
May He (F)remember all your meal offerings
And [b](G)accept your burnt offering! Selah

May He grant you your (H)heart’s desire
And (I)fulfill your whole plan!
[c]We will (J)sing for joy over your [d]victory,
And in the name of our God we will (K)set up our banners.
May the Lord (L)fulfill all your desires.

Now (M)I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will (N)answer him from His holy heaven
With the [e](O)saving strength of His right hand.
Some praise their chariots and some their (P)horses,
But (Q)we will praise the name of the Lord, our God.
They have (R)bowed down and fallen,
But we have (S)risen and stood upright.

May the (U)King answer us on the day we call.

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;(A)
    may the name of the God of Jacob(B) protect you.(C)
May he send you help(D) from the sanctuary(E)
    and grant you support(F) from Zion.(G)
May he remember(H) all your sacrifices
    and accept your burnt offerings.[b](I)
May he give you the desire of your heart(J)
    and make all your plans succeed.(K)
May we shout for joy(L) over your victory
    and lift up our banners(M) in the name of our God.

May the Lord grant all your requests.(N)

Now this I know:
    The Lord gives victory to his anointed.(O)
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
    with the victorious power of his right hand.(P)
Some trust in chariots(Q) and some in horses,(R)
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.(S)
They are brought to their knees and fall,(T)
    but we rise up(U) and stand firm.(V)
Lord, give victory to the king!

May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high [and defend you in battle]!

May He send you help from the sanctuary (His dwelling place)
And support and strengthen you from Zion!

May He remember all your meal offerings
And accept your burnt offering. Selah.


May He grant you your heart’s desire
And fulfill all your plans.

We will sing joyously over your victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.


Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;

With the saving strength of His right hand.

20 O Senhor te ouça no dia da angústia; o nome do Deus de Jacó te proteja. Envie-te socorro desde o seu santuário e te sustenha desde Sião. Lembre-se de todas as tuas ofertas e aceite os teus holocaustos. (Selá) Conceda-te conforme o teu coração e cumpra todo o teu desígnio. Nós nos alegraremos pela tua salvação e, em nome do nosso Deus, arvoraremos pendões; satisfaça o Senhor todas as tuas petições.

Agora sei que o Senhor salva o seu ungido; ele o ouvirá desde o seu santo céu com a força salvadora da sua destra. Uns confiam em carros, e outros, em cavalos, mas nós faremos menção do nome do Senhor, nosso Deus. Uns encurvam-se e caem, mas nós nos levantamos e estamos de pé.

Salva-nos, Senhor! Ouça-nos o Rei quando clamarmos.

Que o Senhor te responda
    no tempo da angústia;
o nome do Deus de Jacó te proteja!
Do santuário te envie auxílio
e de Sião te dê apoio.
Lembre-se de todas as tuas ofertas
e aceite os teus holocaustos[a].Pausa
Conceda-te o desejo do teu coração
e leve a efeito todos os teus planos.
Saudaremos a tua vitória com gritos de alegria
e ergueremos as nossas bandeiras
    em nome do nosso Deus.
Que o Senhor atenda todos os teus pedidos!

Agora sei que o Senhor
    dará vitória ao seu ungido;
dos seus santos céus lhe responde
    com o poder salvador da sua mão direita.
Alguns confiam em carros e outros em cavalos,
mas nós confiamos
no nome do Senhor, o nosso Deus.
Eles vacilam e caem,
mas nós nos erguemos e estamos firmes.

Senhor, concede vitória ao rei!
