Prayer for Victory over Enemies.
For the music director. A Psalm of David.
20 May the Lord answer you (A)on a day of trouble!
May the (B)name of the (C)God of Jacob [a]protect you!
2 May He send you help (D)from the sanctuary,
And (E)support you from Zion!
3 May He (F)remember all your meal offerings
And [b](G)accept your burnt offering! Selah
4 May He grant you your (H)heart’s desire
And (I)fulfill your whole plan!
5 [c]We will (J)sing for joy over your [d]victory,
And in the name of our God we will (K)set up our banners.
May the Lord (L)fulfill all your desires.
6 Now (M)I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will (N)answer him from His holy heaven
With the [e](O)saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some praise their chariots and some their (P)horses,
But (Q)we will praise the name of the Lord, our God.
8 They have (R)bowed down and fallen,
But we have (S)risen and stood upright.
9 [f](T)Save, Lord;
May the (U)King answer us on the day we call.

Il Signore ti risponda nel giorno
dell'avversità;
il nome del Dio di *Giacobbe ti tragga in alto, in salvo;
2 ti mandi soccorso dal *santuario,
ti sostenga da *Sion;
3 si ricordi di tutte le tue offerte
e accetti il tuo olocausto. [Pausa]
4 Ti dia egli quel che il tuo cuore
desidera,
faccia riuscire ogni tuo progetto.
5 Noi canteremo di gioia per la tua
vittoria,
alzeremo le nostre bandiere nel nome del nostro Dio.
Il Signore esaudisca tutte le tue
richieste.
6 So già che il Signore ha salvato il suo *unto
e gli risponderà dal suo santo cielo,
con le prodezze della sua destra.
7 Gli uni confidano nei carri, gli altri nei cavalli;
ma noi invocheremo il nome del
Signore, del nostro Dio.
8 Quelli si piegano e cadono;
ma noi restiamo in piedi e siamo saldi.
9 O Signore, salva il re!
