Deliverance in Battle
For the choir director. A psalm of David.
20 May the Lord answer you in a day of trouble;(A)
may the name of Jacob’s God protect you.(B)
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and sustain you from Zion.(C)
3 May he remember all your offerings
and accept your burnt offering.(D) Selah
4 May he give you what your heart desires(E)
and fulfil your whole purpose.(F)
5 Let us shout for joy at your victory(G)
and lift the banner in the name of our God.(H)
May the Lord fulfil all your requests.(I)
6 Now I know that the Lord gives victory to his anointed;(J)
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with mighty victories from his right hand.(K)
7 Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses,
but we take pride in the name of the Lord our God.(L)
8 They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand firm.(M)
9 Lord, give victory to the king!(N)
May he[a] answer us on the day that we call.

Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God

20 May the Lord (A)answer you in the day of trouble!
May (B)the name of the God of Jacob (C)protect you!
2 May he send you help from (D)the sanctuary
and give you support from (E)Zion!
3 May he (F)remember all your offerings
and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah
4 May he (G)grant you your heart's desire
and fulfill all your plans!
5 May we shout for joy over (H)your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our (I)banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!
6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with (J)the saving might of his right hand.
7 Some trust in (K)chariots and some in (L)horses,
(M)but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
8 They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.
9 O Lord, save (N)the king!
May he answer us when we call.

Il Signore ti risponda nel giorno dell’avversità;
il nome del Dio di Giacobbe ti tragga in alto, in salvo;
2 ti mandi soccorso dal santuario,
ti sostenga da Sion;
3 si ricordi di tutte le tue offerte
e accetti il tuo olocausto. [Pausa]
4 Ti dia egli quel che il tuo cuore desidera,
faccia riuscire ogni tuo progetto.
5 Noi canteremo di gioia per la tua vittoria,
alzeremo le nostre bandiere nel nome del nostro Dio.
Il Signore esaudisca tutte le tue richieste.
6 So già che il Signore ha salvato il suo unto
e gli risponderà dal suo santo cielo,
con le prodezze della sua destra.
7 Gli uni confidano nei carri, gli altri nei cavalli;
ma noi invocheremo il nome del Signore, del nostro Dio.
