⁶ Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

²⁴ Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

²³ He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross,^[a] and follow me.

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

²¹ For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you^[a] an example, that you should follow his steps,

¹⁴ as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance, ¹⁵ but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior; ¹⁶ because it is written, “You shall be holy; for I am holy.”Leviticus 11:44-45

12 Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us, ² looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ³ For consider him who has endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, that you don’t grow weary, fainting in your souls. ⁴ You have not yet resisted to blood, striving against sin.
