Psalm 2:4-9

New American Standard Bible

⁴ He who ^[a]sits in the heavens ^(A)laughs,
The Lord ^(B)scoffs at them.
⁵ Then He will speak to them in His ^(C)anger
And ^(D)terrify them in His fury, saying,
⁶ “But as for Me, I have installed ^(E)My King
Upon Zion, ^(F)My holy mountain.”

⁷ “I will announce the ^[b]decree of the Lord:
He said to Me, ‘You are ^(G)My Son,
Today I have fathered You.
⁸ Ask it of Me, and ^(H)I will certainly give ^(I)the ^[c]nations as Your inheritance,
And the ^(J)ends of the earth as Your possession.
⁹ You shall ^[d](K)break them with a ^[e]rod of iron,
You shall ^(L)shatter them like ^[f]earthenware.’”
