16 Save me, O God, because I have come to you for refuge. I said to him, “You are my Lord; I have no other help but yours.” I want the company of the godly men and women in the land; they are the true nobility. Those choosing other gods shall all be filled with sorrow; I will not offer the sacrifices they do or even speak the names of their gods.

The Lord himself is my inheritance, my prize. He is my food and drink, my highest joy! He guards all that is mine. He sees that I am given pleasant brooks and meadows as my share![a] What a wonderful inheritance! I will bless the Lord who counsels me; he gives me wisdom in the night. He tells me what to do.

I am always thinking of the Lord; and because he is so near, I never need to stumble or fall.

Heart, body, and soul are filled with joy. 10 For you will not leave me among the dead; you will not allow your beloved one to rot in the grave. 11 You have let me experience the joys of life and the exquisite pleasures of your own eternal presence.

You Will Not Forsake My Soul

A [a]Mikhtam of David.

16 (A)Keep me, O God, for (B)I take refuge in You.
O my soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are [b]my Lord;
I (C)have no good without You.”
As for the [c](D)saints who are in the earth,
They are the majestic ones (E)in whom is all my delight.
The [d](F)pains of those who have [e]bartered for another god will be multiplied;
I shall not pour out their drink offerings of (G)blood,
Nor will I (H)take their names upon my lips.

Yahweh is the (I)portion of my inheritance and my (J)cup;
You support my (K)lot.
The (L)lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Indeed, my inheritance is (M)beautiful to me.

I will bless Yahweh who has (N)counseled me;
Indeed, my [f](O)mind instructs me in the night.
(P)I have (Q)set Yahweh continually before me;
Because He is (R)at my right hand, (S)I will not be shaken.
Therefore (T)my heart is glad and (U)my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will (V)dwell securely.
10 For You (W)will not forsake my soul to Sheol;
You will not (X)give Your [g]Holy One over to see [h]corruption.
11 You will make known to me (Y)the path of life;
In (Z)Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are (AA)pleasures forever.

    sa mga paghahandog nila'y hindi ako sasama;

    at sa gabi, sa budhi ko siya ang gumagabay.
Alam(A) kong kasama ko siya sa tuwina;
    hindi ako matitinag pagkat kapiling siya.

    sa piling mo'y madarama ang lubos na kagalakan;
    ang tulong mo'y nagdudulot ng ligayang walang hanggan.
