Sing to the Lord a New Song
149 (A)Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord (B)a new song,
his praise in (C)the assembly of the godly!
2 Let Israel (D)be glad in (E)his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their (F)King!
3 Let them praise his name with (G)dancing,
making melody to him with (H)tambourine and (I)lyre!
4 For the Lord (J)takes pleasure in his people;
he (K)adorns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the godly exult in glory;
let them (L)sing for joy on their (M)beds.
6 Let (N)the high praises of God be in their throats
and (O)two-edged swords in their hands,
7 to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with (P)chains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9 to execute on them the judgment (Q)written!
(R)This is honor for all his godly ones.
(S)Praise the Lord!

Ca ngợi Thượng Đế của Ít-ra-en
149 Hãy ca ngợi Chúa!
Hãy hát một bài ca mới cho Ngài;
Hãy ca ngợi giữa buổi họp của dân Ngài.
2 Toàn dân Ít-ra-en hãy vui mừng vì Thượng Đế,
Đấng dựng nên mình.
Dân cư Giê-ru-sa-lem hãy vui mừng vì vua mình.
3 Hãy nhảy múa mà ca ngợi Ngài.
Hãy đánh trống cơm và dùng đờn cầm mà ca tụng Chúa.
4 Chúa hài lòng với dân Ngài;
Ngài cứu kẻ khiêm nhường.
5 Hỡi những ai thờ phụng Ngài
hãy vui mừng trong vinh hiển Ngài.
Dù khi đang nằm trên giường cũng hãy ca tụng Ngài!
6 Mọi người hãy lớn tiếng ca tụng Chúa
bằng gươm hai lưỡi trong tay.
7 Họ sẽ trừng phạt các nước,
đánh bại các dân.
8 Họ sẽ trói các vua bằng xiềng
và cột những người có quyền thế bằng xích sắt.
9 Họ sẽ trừng phạt chúng theo bản án Thượng Đế định.
Đó là vinh dự cho những kẻ theo Ngài.
Hãy ca tụng Chúa!

2 Let Israel rejoice(D) in their Maker;(E)
let the people of Zion be glad in their King.(F)
3 Let them praise his name with dancing(G)
and make music to him with timbrel and harp.(H)
4 For the Lord takes delight(I) in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory.(J)
5 Let his faithful people rejoice(K) in this honor
and sing for joy on their beds.(L)
6 May the praise of God be in their mouths(M)
and a double-edged(N) sword in their hands,(O)
7 to inflict vengeance(P) on the nations
and punishment(Q) on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with fetters,(R)
their nobles with shackles of iron,(S)
9 to carry out the sentence written against them—(T)
this is the glory of all his faithful people.(U)
Praise the Lord.
