Israel Invoked to Praise the Lord.

149 [a]Praise [b]the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a (A)new song,
And His praise (B)in the congregation of the godly ones.
Let Israel be glad in (C)his Maker;
Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their (D)King.
Let them praise His name with (E)dancing;
Let them sing praises to Him with (F)timbrel and lyre.
For the Lord (G)takes pleasure in His people;
He will (H)beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.

Let the (I)godly ones exult in glory;
Let them (J)sing for joy on their beds.
Let the (K)high praises of God be in their [c]mouth,
And a (L)two-edged (M)sword in their hand,
To (N)execute vengeance on the nations
And punishment on the peoples,
To bind their kings (O)with chains
And their (P)nobles with fetters of iron,
To (Q)execute on them the judgment written;
This is an (R)honor for all His godly ones.

149 ¡Aleluya!

Canten al Señor un canto nuevo;
alábenlo en la comunidad de los fieles.
Alégrense los israelitas, el pueblo de Sión,
porque Dios es su Creador y Rey.
Alaben su nombre con danzas,
cántenle himnos al son de arpas y panderos.
Porque el Señor se complace en su pueblo;
da a los humildes el honor de la victoria.
Alégrense los fieles con el triunfo,
y aun dormidos canten de alegría.
Haya alabanzas a Dios en sus labios,
y en su mano una espada de dos filos
para vengarse de los paganos,
para castigar a las naciones,
para encadenar a los reyes y gente poderosa
con pesadas cadenas de hierro,
para cumplir en ellos la sentencia escrita.
¡Esto será una honra para todos sus fieles!

149 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

Let Israel rejoice(D) in their Maker;(E)
    let the people of Zion be glad in their King.(F)
Let them praise his name with dancing(G)
    and make music to him with timbrel and harp.(H)
For the Lord takes delight(I) in his people;
    he crowns the humble with victory.(J)
Let his faithful people rejoice(K) in this honor
    and sing for joy on their beds.(L)

May the praise of God be in their mouths(M)
    and a double-edged(N) sword in their hands,(O)
to inflict vengeance(P) on the nations
    and punishment(Q) on the peoples,
to bind their kings with fetters,(R)
    their nobles with shackles of iron,(S)
to carry out the sentence written against them—(T)
    this is the glory of all his faithful people.(U)
