Psalm 149
English Standard Version
Sing to the Lord a New Song
149 (A)Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord (B)a new song,
his praise in (C)the assembly of the godly!
2 Let Israel (D)be glad in (E)his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their (F)King!
3 Let them praise his name with (G)dancing,
making melody to him with (H)tambourine and (I)lyre!
4 For the Lord (J)takes pleasure in his people;
he (K)adorns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the godly exult in glory;
let them (L)sing for joy on their (M)beds.
6 Let (N)the high praises of God be in their throats
and (O)two-edged swords in their hands,
7 to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with (P)chains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9 to execute on them the judgment (Q)written!
(R)This is honor for all his godly ones.
(S)Praise the Lord!

A Final Plague Threatened
11 The Lord said to Moses, “Yet (A)one plague more I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. (B)When he lets you go, he will drive you away completely. 2 Speak now in the hearing of the people, that (C)they ask, every man of his neighbor and every woman of her neighbor, for silver and gold jewelry.” 3 (D)And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people.
4 So Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: (E)‘About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt, 5 and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is (F)behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the cattle. 6 (G)There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has never been, nor ever will be again. 7 But not a dog shall growl (H)against any of the people of Israel, either man or beast, that you may know that the Lord (I)makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.’ 8 And (J)all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying, ‘Get out, you and all the people who follow you.’ And after that I will go out.” And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger. 9 Then the Lord said to Moses, (K)“Pharaoh will not listen to you, that (L)my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”
10 Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and the Lord (M)hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go out of his land.

29 (A)“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, 30 saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 Thus you witness against yourselves that you are (B)sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 (C)Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. 33 You serpents, (D)you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to (E)hell? 34 (F)Therefore (G)I send you (H)prophets and wise men and (I)scribes, (J)some of whom you will kill and crucify, and (K)some you will (L)flog in your synagogues and (M)persecute from town to town, 35 so that on you may come all (N)the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous (O)Abel to the blood of (P)Zechariah the son of Barachiah,[a] whom you murdered between (Q)the sanctuary and (R)the altar. 36 Truly, I say to you, (S)all these things will come upon this generation.
