Psalm 144:7-15

⁷ Reach down your hand from on high;^(A)
    deliver me and rescue me^(B)
from the mighty waters,^(C)
    from the hands of foreigners^(D)
8 whose mouths are full of lies,^(E)
    whose right hands^(F) are deceitful.^(G)

⁹ I will sing a new song^(H) to you, my God;
    on the ten-stringed lyre^(I) I will make music to you,
¹⁰ to the One who gives victory to kings,^(J)
    who delivers his servant David.^(K)

From the deadly sword^{(L) 11} deliver me;
    rescue me^(M) from the hands of foreigners^(N)
whose mouths are full of lies,^(O)
    whose right hands are deceitful.^(P)

¹² Then our sons in their youth
    will be like well-nurtured plants,^(Q)
and our daughters will be like pillars^(R)
    carved to adorn a palace.
¹³ Our barns will be filled^(S)
    with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
    by tens of thousands in our fields;
¹⁴     our oxen^(T) will draw heavy loads.^[a]
There will be no breaching of walls,^(U)
    no going into captivity,
    no cry of distress in our streets.^(V)
15 Blessed is the people^(W) of whom this is true;
    blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.
