Psalm 143
A psalm of David.
1 Lord, hear my prayer,(A)
listen to my cry for mercy;(B)
in your faithfulness(C) and righteousness(D)
come to my relief.
2 Do not bring your servant into judgment,
for no one living is righteous(E) before you.
3 The enemy pursues me,
he crushes me to the ground;
he makes me dwell in the darkness(F)
like those long dead.(G)
4 So my spirit grows faint within me;
my heart within me is dismayed.(H)
5 I remember(I) the days of long ago;
I meditate(J) on all your works
and consider what your hands have done.
6 I spread out my hands(K) to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land.[a]
7 Answer me quickly,(L) Lord;
my spirit fails.(M)
Do not hide your face(N) from me
or I will be like those who go down to the pit.
8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,(O)
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way(P) I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.(Q)
9 Rescue me(R) from my enemies,(S) Lord,
for I hide myself in you.
10 Teach me(T) to do your will,
for you are my God;(U)
may your good Spirit
lead(V) me on level ground.(W)

143 Herre, hör min bön! Svara när jag ropar till dig, för du håller dina löften.
2 Ställ mig inte inför rätta, för ingen är oskyldig i dina ögon.
3 Mina fiender förföljde mig och tog mig till fånga. De har slagit ner mig till marken och de tvingar mig att ligga i mörker, precis som de som ligger i graven.
4 Därför har jag förlorat allt mitt hopp och är förlamad av skräck.
5 Jag minns de fantastiska under som du gjorde förr.
6 Jag sträcker mig mot dig, ja, jag längtar efter dig precis som ett förtorkat land törstar efter regn.
7 Kom snart, Herre, och svara mig, för jag blir alltmer deprimerad. Vänd dig inte bort från mig, för då kommer jag att dö.
8 Påminn mig varje morgon om din godhet, för jag litar på dig. Visa mig den väg jag ska gå! Jag behöver dig!
9 Rädda mig från mina fiender! Herre, jag flyr till dig, för det är bara hos dig som jag kan gömma mig.
10 Hjälp mig att leva som du vill, för du är min Gud. Låt din gode Ande leda mig på rätta vägar.
11 Herre, stå vid ditt ord. Det kommer att ge ditt namn ära. Led mig ut ur alla svårigheter.
12 Eftersom du är kärleksfull och god mot mig, ber jag dig att utplåna alla mina fiender och döda alla som tänker skada mig, för jag är din tjänare.

143 Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
7 Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
9 Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
