Psalm 143:8-145:11
English Standard Version
8 (A)Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I (B)trust.
(C)Make me know the way I should go,
(D)for to you I lift up my soul.
9 (E)Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord!
I have fled to you for refuge.[a]
10 (F)Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
(G)Let your good Spirit (H)lead me
on (I)level ground!
11 (J)For your name's sake, O Lord, (K)preserve my life!
In your righteousness (L)bring my soul out of trouble!
12 And in your steadfast love you will (M)cut off my enemies,
and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul,
for I am your (N)servant.
My Rock and My Fortress
Of David.
144 Blessed be the Lord, my (O)rock,
(P)who trains my hands for war,
and my fingers for battle;
2 he is my (Q)steadfast love and my (R)fortress,
my (S)stronghold and my deliverer,
my (T)shield and he in whom I take refuge,
who (U)subdues peoples[b] under me.
3 O Lord, (V)what is man that you (W)regard him,
or the son of man that you think of him?
4 (X)Man is like a breath;
his days are like (Y)a passing (Z)shadow.
5 (AA)Bow your heavens, O Lord, and come down!
(AB)Touch the mountains so that they smoke!
6 (AC)Flash forth the lightning and scatter them;
(AD)send out your arrows and rout them!
7 (AE)Stretch out your hand from on high;
(AF)rescue me and deliver me from the many waters,
from the hand (AG)of foreigners,
8 whose mouths speak (AH)lies
and whose right hand is (AI)a right hand of falsehood.
9 I will sing (AJ)a new song to you, O God;
upon (AK)a ten-stringed harp I will play to you,
10 who gives victory to kings,
who (AL)rescues David his servant from the cruel sword.
11 Rescue me and deliver me
from the hand (AM)of foreigners,
whose mouths speak (AN)lies
and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
12 May our sons in their youth
be like (AO)plants full grown,
our daughters like (AP)corner pillars
cut for the structure of a palace;
13 (AQ)may our granaries be full,
(AR)providing all kinds of produce;
may our sheep bring forth thousands
and ten thousands in our fields;
14 may our cattle be heavy with young,
suffering no mishap or failure in bearing;[c]
may there be no (AS)cry of distress in our streets!
15 (AT)Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall!
(AU)Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!
Great Is the Lord
[d] A Song of Praise. Of David.
145 (AV)I will extol you, my God and (AW)King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless you
(AX)and praise your name forever and ever.
3 (AY)Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his (AZ)greatness is unsearchable.
4 (BA)One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
5 On (BB)the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
6 They shall speak of (BC)the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness.
7 They shall pour forth the fame of your (BD)abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
8 The Lord is (BE)gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9 The Lord is (BF)good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made.
10 (BG)All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord,
and all your (BH)saints shall bless you!
11 They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom
and tell of your power,
